My husband had crazy hours as well. Valentine's.day isn't do bad for us. We don't do the chocolate thing since he knows I'm not a fan but we do celebrate it when we can if he's working on the actually day.

Thank you all for the great advice. You are all correct, be thankful he has a job and he can provide for us. I'm sure we will make the best of it. He always knows how to surprise me. :)

My finance works in the oil field as well and if also gone a lot. When he is home I cook what he wants but I don't make anything separate for me. I just portion out my serving.

I am new at this and could use some good recipes and supportive friends as well.
