Do you tend to mindlessly eat in front of the TV? Does your family chow down for hours and you just join them? Find out the events leading up to your binge, find out why you binge, and then take steps to avoid overeating. This is a common problem that you need not face alone.

bump because rice is confusing me too.

Yes, your BMI will shrink if you burn the calories and do not eat them all back. It may take a few months, but your BMI will shrink and it will be lower than the BMI of a clone of you who sat on the couch all day eating chips. If you find this does not occur within the next four to six weeks open up a new thread in the…

120-135 pounds is a fifteen pound window that can help account for bone structure. If you feel this is too small a window, bring it up with your doctor and he/she can reassess you based on more data than your height, gender and age. That said, you may want to check how "big-boned" you are. I didn't use to be able to wrap…

:noway: My face when actual adults pick apart and analyze an article from YAHOO of all places. Everyone, it's an article someone cobbled together real fast in LIST FORMAT about reasons to lose weight. The actual reasons to lose weight are as follows: Be healthier long term Be smaller. That's a boring list. It doesn't drive…

I hate the slippery slope argument, but with weight maintenance the evidence seems to make it apply here. When dieters reach their goal, they stop dieting and eating the way they were before- the eating habits that made them overweight in the first place. The fix is simple; eat differently and don't go back, even when you…

I'm sorry, but an inch of coffee seems silly to get into an argument over. How old was your barista? 18? And you really want to fight with a highschool or college student over an inch of coffee? On one hand, he/she probably should have just given you the 3 tablespoons of milk to make you happy, but it sounds like you…

"Mom! MOM! Did you know vodka is a natural purgative in suficient quantities?! I learn so many things on the internet today!"

great NSV! who knew carrots could actually be good for eyeballs!?

Sometimes logging seems like more of a chore than a labor of love, but if I just let go, I let myself go. Many of my friends and family are overweight, and without logging the eat-everything-in-large-quantities lifestyle makes my pants tight.

If you're worried about overeating, practice logging your intake on MFP every day of the week until it becomes a habit. That way you will know exactly how much you're eating, and whether you're overindulging the other 5 days. Definitely give it a try and see what happens!

Maybe try taking a picture premeal and another one postmeal and then see if there is a noticeable difference. The feeling of being full might skew how you see your tummy.

I'm guessing OP's first language is not English. Calm down guys; this is not a troll (I think).

go in expecting a fire war, find Fonze instead. day=made.

You may want to check the ingredients before taking your supplement. A common additive in diet pills is caffeine, and if you can't have caffeine you certainly don't want to be taking it via pill. I have taken weight loss supplements and I did notice they suppressed my appetite, but they do not suppress actual hunger, and…

I prefer carrot chips, which are crinkle cut chips made from normal-sized carrots. Hand one to my friend to try. She chews it, confused. "But...it's not sweet like a baby carrot." I didn't have the heart to tell her that that is the point. I'm an adult. I don't need my veggies spiked with sugar to eat them.

A long-term commitment isn't giving you immediate gratification, so you're going to quit?

I love skinny girls who complain about wearing the next size up. "Ugh! I'm so fat, I have to get a size six jeans instead of a size four." If I could squeeze into a size six, I'd celebrate with half a cake, because I have actual fat person problems- like celebrating a loss with food.

I try to deal with anxiety via exercise and sunshine. An hour walk does more for me than a pound of chocolate. Hard days end with cooking. Something about meticulously washing, cutting and boiling in the quiet of my kitchen soothes me. Not exactly non-food, but it beats the drive-thru.

US portions are large because for many Americans, going out to eat is expensive. When I eat out, I'm using money I barely have, I go starving and I leave stuffed. Money well-spent. I would be equally as happy with smaller portions, provided the cost is smaller too. At fast food joints, I get a small meal for $2 and some…

With stubborn parents, there's not much you can do. If you wash your hands of the whole situation, you get to watch the eating problems, the diabetes, the high blood pressure, frustration and depression slowly tear your family apart. If you try to change anything you're going to get alot of backlash from kid and parents,…

For my own cold lunches I tend to take a sandwich, some kind of fruit, water and an extra, with the extra being low sodium chips, a serving of Homekist cookies, banana chips or more fruit.

I was annoyed when my doctor browbeated me for ten minutes because I was fat. "What are you doing to change your diet?" The answer was "nothing, I'm ten and this should be a conversation you have with my parents." He didn't bother talking to my parents, though. I would have been fine with "According to these measurements,…

are you the Grizz? you say stuff like the Grizz. do you study English in college, but don't like lit criticism? girlfriends go missing mysteriously?

brace yourselves. i feel a scam coming on...he's going to sell us ninxia wolf acai ferral berries or something. that or this is just a troll.

is this...is this spam? i just read the whole thing and learned nothing. "Trick your body?" what does that even mean? do you want me to pull a tomato from behind my ear and go "ho ho ho?" most dieters go wrong because they diet instead of making a permanent change to their eating behaviors. is making adequate changes,…

Eat what's in your fridge before you put more things into it. I find this is the key to success. or you can just buy additional fridges and strew them around your apartment like everyone else is suggesting.

Yes. :drinker: My advice: Cheez-its divided up into baggies. Popcorn. "Reasonable" mac and cheese that can be nuked to perfection.

The director probably figured that it went without saying. I was in theater during high school, and I saw a friend put in four years of nonstop, top quality effort. By senior year, we were all certain she would be cast as Belle in "Beauty and the Beast," but out director cast a girl who had only joined theater that year.…

Maybe, maybe not. This week a study says you process some foods differently than others, so the calorie values for this is different than the calories in that, or the label is different from reality, etc. etc. Next week there will be a study that says something different, and the week after there will be another study that…
