That I didn't need a winter jacket because my blubber would keep me warm.

WW helps you learn what to eat, portion control, how to be successful. WW offers support and accountability by way of meetings in addition to the online message boards. I also find that while there are many knowledgable people on the MFP message boards there are just as many promoting false information as truth. That being…

Hey Ladies, I'm 29 and in the 200+ category. I was actually in the 300+ category when I graduated from college, lost 75 lbs and managed to gain back 35lbs. I feel rotten and need some motivation. My little sister is getting married in May 2014 and I want to look fantastic in her wedding photos!

Also this ^^^ dad has no right to make any comments about his daughter's weight when he's contributing to the problem.

I agree with encouraging her. It sounds like she has made the decision to make the changes and the changes all sounds positive healthy ways to lose weight. I also agree with encouraging her not to focus on the number on the scale but on the positive changes she's making to improve her health. What the previous poster said…

WW taught me how to eat correctly. I disagree with the post above me and WW taught me to eat more whole foods and lay off the processed junk. WW taught me to make healthier choices, to add activity, and to eat smaller portions. Also to pre-plan, track, and get in important things like healthy oils, dairy, a multi-vitamin,…

I am of the belief that not all calories are created equal. I sort of agree with the previous poster saying that you should make sure you're getting those macros, but I don't think it's a good idea to then use the rest of your calories for junk food. I'm not saying you should never eat junk food. I am saying that food is…

Often times when you add exercise the muscles tend to hold on to water which can read as a gain. Don't give up. The scale is not always an accurate reflection of what is going on with your body, take measurements to help see your progress. Drink lots of water. Continue to eat at your calorie goal and don't be afraid to eat…

I bought the book. It does promote it as a lifestyle change despite the title. There are 4 phases and each phases is 17 days. It starts with eating mostly protein and veggies with the exception of two servings of fruit and yogurt. I find that to be a little restrictive. I'm trying it somewhat with having a carb at…

^^^This I really think that you might want to consider learning more about lifting weights. I definitely recommend the New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women. By reading your profile it sounds to me like toning your body would help with some of those things you want to change about yourself.

I lost 75lbs on WW. WW promotes portion control and choosing whole foods which they call "Power Foods" i.e. lean meats, low-fat dairy, fruits, veggies, etc. In my experience I've never had anyone (including leaders) tell me to eat their products over cooking my own meal with whole foods nor have I been told not to eat my…

Hello, I started the 17 DD today. I've read through the book and it seems to me a "doable" way of losing weight. In the first cycle it promotes protein and veggies with a limited intake of fruit and probiotics. For me, when considering a "diet" there are a few things I will never give up...fruit and milk. While cycle 1…
