  • I meal plan each week as well. I use the Paprika app on my iPhone/iPad to store all my favorite recipes (it is amazing for categorizing!) and make the plan. You can also use it for making grocery lists, but we already used Grocery IQ app so we don't use that function in Paprika. We like to do themed nights, which makes it…
  • This is the site that got me to become more creative with my oatmeal combinations. I have oatmeal every morning, and it never gets old because I can make it so many ways. Enjoy!! http://livewell360.com/2008/11/30-day-oatmeal-challenge/ ETA: I don't usually put the flax, wheat germ, etc, in because that would usually exceed…
  • Love Teavana!! I love their Jasmine Phoenix Dragon Pearls blended with Rooibos Tropica (it's a standard blend of theirs). As an alternative to coffee some mornings, I enjoy a blend of their Mate Vana and Rooibos Chai (I think it's another standard blend). Those are pretty much my "go to" teas from there.
  • I use a HRM to estimate my calories. I have noticed that my HRM overestimates when I do other activities, so I "scale" it for entry when logging Kettlebells. When compared to the 6.6cal/min calculation technique, my adjusted calories are pretty close to that (about 10 under).
  • ^ This is what I do! ^ You can start a "template" before you go by adding the items you anticipate will be in your meal to your diary. , then adjust the quantities (or other add-ons you might not have anticipated) when it's sitting in front of you (it's easier to determine how much of it you can eat in that one setting…
  • 2 Days ago, I hit 15lbs lost! I started at 138 and I'm now at 123lb. I don't have any pictures, but I have dropped 1 whole size. It's evident in my measurements: I've lost 4.25" from my waist, 5.75" from my hips, 1" from my upper arms, and 2" in the circumference of my thighs. Most of all, I FEEL so much better not…
  • My husband and I usually make a list of the food we would like to eat, and then pick 5 of the dinnertime-type meals to make that week. We also pick out a variety of quick things that work for lunch foods. After we make a list of the ingredients we will need, we go grocery shopping. This is key for our plan: When we get…
  • I usually find something close in the database as well. If the restaurant has fewer than 20 locations, they are not req'd by law to provide nutrional labeling. I was pretty frustrated when I asked a local place and they didn't have the info, thinking that everyone had to. I found the info regarding the law at the FDA…
  • I'm in the same boat!! This is what I found that discussed cellulite to help me approach it realistically. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cellulite/DS00891 "Weight loss — through healthy diet and regular exercise — is probably the most beneficial cellulite treatment. Losing pounds and strengthening muscles in your legs,…
  • Smiles really do help!! Yesterday, I went for a run (albeit a very slow one), but as I was running, I smiled at the people that were walking around the path. On the second lap, one of the people I smiled at before gave me a grin before I could slap mine on my face! It actually made me smile more, and I found myself smiling…
  • this is what I use as well (the Under Armour are my fav). :) I like to refer to them as my "ninja pants". Having the right gear makes it more enjoyable, the more enjoyable, the more you do it!
  • I get to head home for the holidays as well, and it's exciting, isn't it?!! :)
  • I like to do Warrior X-ft workouts. They are simple, free workouts that you can do in your house. Some require a resistance band, but I was able to modify them slightly when I didn't have one of those. The site also gives you the option to do all 6 exercises, or you can do less than that (depending on the time you have).…
  • Definitely agree. At first, I couldn't go for very long, but at least the more often I went, the easier it got. Then, I broke my elbow and had to start all over again once I got the go-ahead. After that, I just had to tell myself that any little bit of swimming is good, even if I didn't feel it was very much. I started out…
  • :) hey, I think we might be twins!! or at least pretty close? I'm 5'4" HW: 139 (about a month ago) CW: 133 GW 118-124 (depending on muscle development; really looking for a body fat % between 14-18%)
  • Hi everyone!! I am originally from Pipestone in SW MN, but have called many places my home in the last several years due to the military lifestyle. I will always be a MN girl at heart though!! :) For our anniversary, my husband and I went to an Away game for the Twins in Oakland. :) Go TWINS!! :) Stephanie
  • :) I agree, the 3DS XL is awesome!! I bought it specifically to play Mario Kart. Totally obsessed with that game, but the MK9 doesn't have my favorite character as a playable character (King Boo or Boo). Oh well, it's a ton of fun, especially when I can take it traveling!
  • Great job! (and go Twins!) taekwondo is so much fun. thanks for sharing your success!
