  • All my workouts are in water. I LOVE IT!!!
  • Swimming is wonderful. I do aerobic exercises for an hour a day. Working hard enough to get my heart pounding good.. That with keeping my calories at the recommended level does wonders. I usually don't eat my exercise calories back. They are the bonus.
  • I agree, I know I know, loaded with sodium, but with them I eat lots of fresh vegs steamed, fresh fruit etc. I am a serious binge person, and the prepared meals give me portion control.. I also fix myself meals from scratch that I can weigh out, like chicken breast, fish, etc. But if I am hungry or in a hurry, I can grab…
  • What is the HMR decision free program
  • . I your losing pounds and inches your tweaking just fine
  • what is an HRM
  • youtube has great deep water exercises, that are incredibly hard. Try them. See for yourself. Just try a cross country leg and arm swings with your arms under water holding double foam bar bells, fast pace, for 30 min and tell me it's easy. You burn an incredible amount of calories, feel great when you get out and don't…
  • wow, freaking amazing, you look wonderful. Keep up the great work. Don't stop, don't give up, count everything, stay active
  • What I get out of this is that you have to count calories without cheating, be physically active at least an hour a day and never give up. Those huge American meals have got to be a thing of the past. What I see from the article she was quoting doesn't say that a healthy lifestyle doesn't work it's the people that don't…
  • if you think mfp is not accurate on their exercise calories check other sites... Some are laughable. It can fluctuate 300 or more calories and hour. I do water exercises for 60 min daily. No idea how many calories I am really burning. I check about 3 sites and go for the low to middle average.
  • swim everyday, leisurely, I do aerobics type exercises in the deep water, 60 min. Great workout. Count Calories. CICO!!!!
  • tilapia, sprinkle with granulated garlic , granulated onion, salt, a little parmesean cheese and hot pepper flakes, broil for about 8 minutes depending on your oven and how close you put it under the broiler ( I like mine browned)
  • secret, are you kidding? I am a compulsive food weigher, the only accurate way to determine how much your eating. I wish all foods were listed by the oz.
  • Vancouver WA, but lived in Portland most of my life
  • once I read the ingredients in coffee mate like creamers and figured out the calories were more than half and half I gave it up forever (what is all that stuff, it certainly isn't food). With some splenda or stivia or the bottled sugar free flavorings. of coarse that isn't food either.
  • well, I'm the old one here. 66 on MFP for a few weeks now. I've lost 22 lbs (need LOTS more). Go swimming everyday now, working out with the foam barbells and noodle. Love the water
  • I agree with you shirayne, we shouldn't berate ourselves. Speak to yourself as you would a beloved friend, relative or pet. A bad day (or three, or a week,or a month) is just that. Track everything, no matter how bad, be accountable to yourself, accept you're human and move on. Positive thoughts are best.
  • How often does everyone weigh in. Personally, I do it every morning before eating. I understand weight fluctuates everyday but I want to know what's happening.
  • I still have more hoops to jump through to satisfy Kaiser's program requirements. I have finished one class, next see a nutritionist and someone else. Did a sleep study and am working on losing some weight the old fashioned method. Have lost 10 lbs on that and am swimming everyday. Hopefully I will be ready by early fall.…
  • Kaiser does only the gastric pouch procedure. I think that's what they call it. I am in the program now leading up to the surgery early fall. would love to hear from peeps who have gone through this. I only know 2, one successful and the other not.
  • I am interested too. Planning this fall, early. Would love to hear the up and the downs of the procedure from anyone who has experienced it.
  • it's amazing how many of "us" there are in this chubby country (and other places too, of coarse.) I always feel like " I'm going to be the biggest person there" and am relieved when I'm not. How mean is that!! This thread really drives home how many of "us" there really is. My goal is to just put down everything I eat so…
  • I don't know many people who always eat the right combo of foods to fulfill all their nutritional requirements everyday. Supplements can't hurt if you don't overdo so why not. They don't help with weight loss but maybe help with general well being
  • thanks for the honest reply, a friend has had the same surgery 5 years ago and has maintained w 5 lbs up and down ever since but still logs EVERYTHING never going over 1400 calories a day unless it is something very special once or twice a year. She also still takes lots of supplements to make sure she's getting enough…
  • would you do it again, how long has it been since your surgery, you stated where you started and I think how much you have lost so far so what are your goals now. Also, if you don't mind, how old are you
  • I agree w Mr Knight, it is super easy to miss some of the calories you are eating everyday, I am a tall large person and I have to stay at 1500 cals or less to lose consistently and I swim an hour a day. I am also considering bariatric so it is good to hear from people who have gone through it. Keep up the posts, log…
  • bernalgirl, I love to cook also and share recipes. All ideas are wonderfully accepted. I, too, lost a lot of weight about 5 years ago but gained most back. So I'm back and using this site. I swim daily, count every calorie that goes in my mouth, and shocker, it works!!!
