  • Well I didn't make my goal, but I did better than I thought I would. Stress has been a major factor for me, but I have come through learning some new and better ways to manage this and lessen the impact it has on me. SW 295 GW 280 (15lb loss) Final weight: 283.5lbs Total loss : 11.5lbs
  • So, after a couple of stressful weeks where I wasn't really up to it, and didn't have a lot of time to check in I finally got the courage to step on those scales again.. SW 295 GW 280 (WK 1) = 291.9 CW = 289 Goal = 15 lbs, lost so far = 6 lbs, remaining = 9 lbs to go (for the challenge)
  • mmm yes, the Banrock Station Frizzante is a lighter wine, and delicious. Not the usual sweet wine - its made with lychees, divine though.. This will be what I drink this weekend (a cheat weekend but hey, birthdays only come once a year).. I will have to look into the First Frost.
  • I have 2 resolutions for the New Year. 1 - to stop emotional eating 2 - to stop being so hard on myself when things don't go to plan or I have a bad day/week. they really merge into one I think. I have a tendency to get really upset with myself when I don't stick to the plan i.e. overeat/gorge on food, and punish myself.…
  • In spite of 2 parties to attend I think week one went really well for me. I managed to lose enough weight to stay on target, and also made a few new friends in here. Week 2 however is one day old and already one of the worst (stress related) week's of the year. Sitting here with 70 calories left in daily target with HUGE…
  • Well, this week went better than I thought it would. SW 295 GW 280 CW (WK 1) = 291.9 Goal = 15 lbs, lost so far = 3.1lbs, remaining = 11.9lbs to go (for the challenge)
  • Well done :) I just wanted to say good job also. You're making positive steps, aware of their importance, and working through solutions. And the scale has rewarded you ;). Just keep going, you CAN do it. I second the recommendation of the backpack, and foods like beans really do fill you up. You will also discover some…
  • HI Karen, new to the group, but had a similar dilemma with the wine. My tactic? I use a wine glass, and berocca - it fizzes, is nice with cool fresh water, and the wine glass makes me feel better ;) Bonus is I get some badly needed B vitamins.
  • Hello Everyone :) My husband likes to call me an "Islander" as I was grew up on Stewart Island ;) I have moved a lot around NZ, currently living in the Manawatu. With many ups and downs in my weight journey (more ups if I'm honest), I can no longer blame the large babies, ill health, medications etc and have decided to…
  • I have too many favourite quotes, I have them everywhere. The 3 currently on my desk at work (my second, almost first, home) are: “If we are facing in the right direction, all we have to do is keep on walking.” -Proverb "It always seems impossible until its done.” — Nelson Mandela. "Insanity: doing the same thing over and…
  • For me? the thing that works the most is the diary/log of my food. And making sure I update it as I go throughout the day, its very revealing. A diary without calories helped as the first step, however once I started with this site and VERY pleased to see it has NZ foods, it was even more revealing, and I can be more…
  • I will be doing lots of walking. (its the only exercise allowed to do at the moment as i've dislocated my kneecap twice in the last month). Twice a week my physiotherapist puts me through a gym programme of an hr so that will help too..
  • Well here goes... CW 295lbs GW 280lbs eek.
  • Hi Everyone, I am Hayley, from New Zealand. I would like to lose 15lbs by NYE - to prove to (remind) myself I can do it. My favourite colour is purple My favourite season is autumn - such a pretty time of year My favourite food is Chicken breast marinated with ginger and honey, stir fried with bok choy.. mmm... My…
