  • I've been running for a few months and did my first official 5K this past Sunday. Did much better than I expected (24:50..finished 35th out of 212 total runners). I've been fortunate enough to not have any pain in my lower half since beginning, but if you are experincing pain that is too much to run through don't push it.…
  • PB Mmmmm....The old standby for me is the Teddie natural unsalted. Took some getting used to at first after eating Jiff and Skippy all my life but now its delicious to me. Just work it into your calories and you are fine. I usually put a little more than a tablespoon (about 110-120 calories worth) spread over 2 pieces…
  • Could not be said any better. I literally put that sh#t on everything haha. Last weekend I fried 1 egg white & 1 whole egg loaded up w/pepper and melted a thin slice of cheddar on it. Sliced some avocado and DOUSED it in Sriracha (actually only like a teaspon and a half) and ate it between 2 pieces of Nature's own whole…
  • Hey Matthew I'm 31, 5'11" currently 190 down from 260 (about 10 months in the making) and also have been at a desk job for about 6 years. I haven't really taken my bofy fat % yet but if I had to guess I'd say I'm in the low 20s. I too had been walking mostly 3-4 days a week and about a month and a half ago started jogging.…

  • I didn't read through the thread to see if this was mentioned...but I love the Honey Sesame Almonds and Cashews they have. Great for a filling snack or on top of a salad.
  • Superfeet insoles...they are stiffer than he gel ones you see everywhere. Got a some a couple of years ago and started wearing them in all my shoes and within a few months it was gone after 2 years of suffering with PF. Do your stretches too!

  • About 20% give or take. I've done a few different calculators and it's tough for me to judge the whole activity level thing. I usually base it around light activity. I've recalculated a couple of times..I actually was eating 2400/day for a while. Recalculate about every 10 pounds lost or so.
  • Personally, I was eating low calories for me (1500ish a day) from October to Mid January. Lost about 30 pounds but stalled out for like 3 weeks before stumbling on the whole TDEE thing. Upped my calories to about 2200 a day and the weight started coming off again and have steadily been losing a couple pounds a week on…
  • Mutant at first glance I thought maybe Zoey Deschanel...but now i think Katy Perry a little
  • http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/09/santa-fe-turkey-stuffed-peppers.html Prepped them last night just need to put them in the oven when i get home! That way I can smell them during my workout for added motivation lol. Made them a couple weeks ago for the first time they are AMAZING. Also had heard people say that they sub…
  • I got her number....how do you like THOSE apples?
  • Every couple of weeks I treat myself to the following on a weekend morning: 1 egg white and 1 whole egg fried with 1 slice cheese (I like provolone) and turkey bacon or a couple of morning star veggie sausage patties, served in between 2 toasted vans or kashi waffles . Drizzle each waffle with a little maple syrup of…
  • 50 for me :) 4250 + 50 = 4300
  • Oh and yes reading the posts above, I have also started doing some weight exercises as well as the resistance band/non cardio dvds from 10 min. trainer and agree it is working wonders. Mix in some burpees too if you can.

  • I'm about 5'11" and in October weighed in at 260+ lbs. Started counting calories and doing some occasional exercise (walking, stair jogging, etc.) and dropped like 30 pounds in 3 months. Then I decided to try getting some more exercise so I bought 10 Minute trainer (by Beachbody/Tony Horton the p90X guy) because I don't…

  • I'm not a nutritionist or an expert by any means, but when i was starting out a few months ago I noticed the same thing. I think it is ok and the sugar guidelines that MFP sets are more for added/refined sugars and not natural sugars as you would find in fruits and say milk (lactose). I eat as little added sugars as…
  • Apple sliced up and balsamic dressing go really good together IMO. Also, I know you said low cal/low fat, but enjoy a handful of raw cashews on my salads too. High in fat, but its essential healthy fat.
  • I do a Pistachio Crusted Honey Salmon which is unbelievable. Get a pound or so of your favorite salmon. Preheat oven to 425 and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray. Crush half a cup of peeled pistachios (I use unsalted) in a food processor or blender, then add 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs, 1…
