  • So I cook most of my own food, and eat out at most once a week, and I am usually low on my sodium. I never buy anything canned except tuna and coconut milk, and I use natural meats.
  • Look at the Youtubes for form and such and do your stuff in the mirrors so you can see if your butt is dropping far enough for a squat. Ask for a short term personal training gift for Christmas, it does help as they will tell you every wrong move you do and then some!! At least a few visits...OR, as an alternative, suck up…
  • Anything you LIKE to do? Start at it slowly...if its the bike, start with 5 minutes. Elliptical...2 minutes (lol...it hurts me long before I get outta breath), etc. whatever it is, START. Reinforce your progress with whatever motivates you...posting on here to get high fives, getting yourself something, taking a spa…

  • Dieticians in general do not have the specialized education for diabetes or special diets on a detailed basis. They are taught basics and if they don't choose to further that they are just as clueless as Aunt Betty about what is right for a person with x-type condition. The referral I got was laughable and she told me to…
  • OP, what about just increasing walking/steps. Get a Fitbit and keep track of your slow/controlled steps and make your goal higher than the 10,000 most of us do...We can brisk walk or run, you have to just get steps however you can...10 minutes at lunch, 5 minutes on break, 20 minutes after work, 30 minutes at the store,…
  • I wasn't even going to comment on this thread, but I HAD to with this comment!! AMEN!! I ended up quitting personal training after an incident with squats that left me with a migraine! My heart rate was ridiculous, as was my blood pressure! Love this!
  • Not doing so well this week, but at least I haven't gone off the rails completely!
  • Tonight at work we had Salsa Chicken, I made my own cauliflower rice to have with it and some steamed broccoli. I was really loving the cauli-rice I made it differently this time. I processe the fresh cauliflower until rice sized, and fried it in a pan with coconut oil, until lightly browned. Gave it a nice flavor and no…
  • I have big calves, normally, and they did get bigger with a recent weight gain, but not much. I have to buy the plus sized boots, even though I don't fit into any of the plus sized clothes where I got them. They may go back down, maybe 2 inches or so, but I am not holding my breath.
  • Do you have a Fitbit? Adding that and doing challenges on there does help me. For the plantar fasciitis, is that something new, to my understanding it is treatable and you can recover from it? Try to work around that and do short bursts...20 min here, 30 min there, ice the foot (or heat it whichever you are doing), do 10…
  • OOH thanks! I will have to go! I get all my good kitchen stuff there, and have found my only actual Bento Box there. I don't use that one much, something to remember I have!
  • My personal feelings on this have nothing to do with what the OP asked. I think we should encourage any measure of Paleo because it is DIS-couraging the alternatives that are a whole lot worse!! Do I believe vegetarianism or veganism is right? NO. But this is not about that it is about what someone asked as a question. Yes…
  • Nothing to be sorry for it is just unclear to me anyway. Break it down, do small things...it will add more bees to your raw honey I believe!
  • I like Sweet Leaf Stevia powder, or my own things like coconut sugar. I can do stevia in my own doses...I find these powders have WAY too much!!
  • Hi my name is Cindy and I am 41, married no kids (and am not planning on them) but I love my Fur kids!! I have been struggling a long time, and have complications to my struggle like Gluten and hypothyroid, plus bad reactions to most grains. I am best off Paleo diet, for my health. Not as easy as it should be!
  • If you like the nutrients in it try the Natural one and add your own flavors to it. I add vanilla, and my own sweeteners, and a pinch of salt because to me sweet and salt need to balance
  • You should be fine if you are eating a protein every meal...a fish an, egg, a dairy all of the above...Its not so hard as it seems if you focus on it. Eggs for breakfast, tuna for lunch salmon for dinner in good portions. Add fats on that too to make up your calories and energy. Like avocado, olive oil, etc.
  • So how does one join the cool kids? I just can't read back 300+ posts...
  • Are you using a Fitbit or similar to link to MFP? If so, put it to sedentary and let the device handle it. If not, then you are lightly active I think.
  • I would do the opposite honestly. I would use cornstarch or baby powder to dry it, not moisturize it with vaseline.
  • Is it Vega One? I have that and I find I have to dilute it a lot more, or buy the unflavored and flavor it myself. Stevia will do that if too much is added, plus the other flavorings like vanilla, carmael etc. I know I have seen these ingredients before...
  • That is what it is supposed to do, but I have not found it to work for myself or anyone I know in that manner...my comment was the common sense answer, not because I didn't know that this is what they claim it will do.
  • Antidepressants are known for weight gain...if you are tapering off, you should be fine soon! Be sure to get plenty of activity, especially outside. It really helps with the depression and may also help with weight!
  • Welcome! There are people out there who are vegetarians and even Paleo Veagns, "Peagans". I think that most of us are meat eaters here, but maybe those who aren't are quieter! I think that it is possible, I would advise using fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, etc.) whenever possible and adding eggs if you tolerate them. Make…
  • I was just unclear what you were looking for in members of your group. Do you mean to start a thread here, or make a whole new MFP group? I think you would be best off starting small, like starting a thread for one topic. That is a lot of things in one post and we all probably have varying opinions on each and every point.…
  • I have an idea I have been tossing around...what about lowering your calorie goal by a couple hundred calories and treating this like WW with free fruits and veggies? I would log a typical days calories for the fruits and veggies and see about what you eat in those alone, then take that off your calorie goal and then just…
  • I made my first Bento in a while after being sick and just lax with it! It is a turkey and provolone wrap with spring mix, cocktail tomatoes, carrot chips, sugar snap peas and seedless cucumber. I did have a homemade ranch dipping sauce not in the picture.
  • I either use Stove Top and don't eat it or I make my own (I can't have Stove Top I am gluten intolerant). I use toast pieces (GF but could be any), celery, onion, garlic, parsley, Bell's seasoning, salt, pepper, and turkey broth to make mine from scratch. I toast the bread, then I sautee the onions, celery, garlic, until…
  • Yes and you have to be willing to suffer short term. Many smokers cannot suffer one minute! I know a few who just aren't willing to get past it.
