I wish I could help. I clicked on this to see what others would say. I have a pretty strong sweet tooth. I try to only eat sweets that I make myself (other than chocolates). So if I want a chocolate chip cookie, I have to go through the work of making a batch. I have decided to minimize the processed foods I eat so buying…

Great job. Your maintenance time is inspiring.

I am not really a noob, but I just started going to the gym again because of the cold rainy weather we are having. I was jogging outside up until last week. I have had my membership for a while, but notice that I go more to the gym from December to February and exercise more at home and outside at other times of the year.

Thanks for posting. I will have my kids make some while on vacation. We can drop them off when we get back.

Agreed. From what I could get through it seems they are talking to a guy in school (high school maybe). Until I was about 20 I definitely did not like really muscular guys. After that my preference changed. I married a man who lifted every day. So yeah tastes change.

I am from CT as well. About 30 minutes from Newtown. I wish I could be ready to run 5k by then, but I am only on week 4 of c25k. Maybe I can find a way to support it in another way.
-
I have been doing it for about 3 weeks. I love it. I have been able to keep up with the program and even though it can be tough, I find that on days that I jog I feel awesome, almost as good as when I was 20 years younger. I used to be a runner when I was in my late teens - early 20's. Sometimes I wonder if my body is…

Great job. Your story is inspiring. I am sorry you have some "friends" who don't support you fully. It may just be their perception, they were more comfortable with a heavier less confident you. If they are real friends they will come around, if not it sounds to me as if with your supportive husband and other friends you…

Running or Hot Hula. I don't know how much I trust my HRM, but it shows I burn about the same doing either one. Of course I have a lot of weight to lose, so I burn more than someone who is smaller but in 30 minutes I burn about 380 in Hot Hula and 400 jogging. My bodybugg registers pretty close to that as well.
-
I hope I can accomplish what you have. I gained 30lbs with my first and 60 with my second. My body has changed the way it gains weight. When I was younger I gained in my hips. I was never really overweight then, but now I have this huge belly. Sometimes I think it will never be flat again. I am OK with that. But seeing…

Are you asking to set the Daily activity level for your goals? If so, I don't use my exercise for that. That is for activity level before you add exercise.
-
I know how you feel. You could start with just walking 10 to 20 minutes a day. Playing with your son at the park is a better workout than you might think. Is there a gym in your area that has daycare. My gym has a kids club. My kids think it is great fun and I get to workout.
-
I guess it depends on you. I used to try to work out when I was sick. When I was younger I could handle it, Now if it is just a cold I will still work out with low intensity. If I have something more serious than a cold, working out will make me much sicker and I will be down for a week or more, so I don't do it anymore. I…

All I can say is AWESOME. I cannot believe it is just 25lbs. Keep it up!!!!!!
-
Wow. I can see a big difference with just 22 lbs. Great job. You look awesome. I am just starting to add strength training. Hope I can post pics like this soon.

CONGRADULATIONS. That is awesome and inspiring. I started the c25k program about 2 weeks ago and am loving it. I find that on the days I do the program I have more energy all day, which is an unexpected bonus for me.
-
That is truly awesome. Being able to be active is just as great if not a better goal than losing the weight.
-
This is probably the best explanation for what is going on I have seen. Thanks for that. I tend to workout about 1/2 to 1 hour after eating a light meal. I seem to get the best workout that way. If I exercise hungry or on a full stomach I get nauseous.
-
I am going to have to dig out my book. I didn't even think of this to get rid of sugar cravings. Maybe I should try it as well.

It has been over a month for me and I don't have cheat days. I find I don't need them. When I want something that is a little decadent I make sure I exercise enough to compensate for it before hand. Then I eat it and enjoy it thoroughly and make sure to log it.
-
I don't log those things. I am usually pretty far under my calories everyday so I don't worry about the small stuff. If I have a salad then I do log the lettuce and everything else because it is a large quantity.

The CDC BMI calculator that the school uses would classify her as Obese. This is really frustrating since obviously she is not "obese". I have the same problem with my daughter. She is tall and solid. She is also thin. She has to where size 10 pants at 7 1/2 because of her height, even though her waist is only a 7/8.…

Someone was nice enough to let me know what NSV means, so my NSV for today was that I decided to start jogging again (after years) and it felt great. I know just last month I would not have been able to do it.
-
My hubby. I love him to bits, but he has such a sweet tooth. It is hard to resist the junk when he is so obviously enjoying it. But right now he is also trying to lose a few pounds so it isn't so bad. I guess it is actually SUGAR. Especially when it is combined with CHOCOLATE.
-
You look great. I cannot wait to get back into my old clothes. By the way you look beautiful in both pictures. But beautiful and fit in the second. (What is NSV noob here)
-
Has anyone who knows you not seen you since you started losing. I am sure if they saw you they would notice. For me the people I see everyday aren't noticing yet although some will say, "You look good, are you doing something different with your hair":ohwell: But, people who haven't seen me for a while always comment on my…

My goal is 200 minutes. Week 1-- 323 minutes Week 2-- 369 minutes Week 3-- 145 minutes (was ill with strep throat) Week 4: Mon: 55 minutes (walking and Hot Hula) Tues: 45 minutes (walking) Wed: 30 minutes (slow jogging-started c25k) Thurs: Fri: Sat: Sun: Total:130/Left:70

I am 5' 8". My highest weight was 268, current weight 238, goal weight 145. I don't know if I can get back down to 145. That is what I weighed before I started putting on the pounds. At 145 I was a size 6, now I wear size 16. Boy was that hard to admit to. My largest size was 20.

You should probably CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR and explain what you did here and let them give you some suggestions. Also they can tell you if there is another reason why you don't feel so well. I am no expert so this is just my 2 cents. If you are miserable then you definitely need to change something. I looked at your food…

I am no expert so this is just my 2 cents. If you are miserable then you definitely need to change something. I looked at your food diary and it doesn't seem extreme to me, except when you factor in all of the exercise you listed below you are not feeding your body enough to give it the energy it needs to accomplish all of…
