bump, thanks!

Right on the delicious part, but actually (North) Indian food doesn't contain coconut milk - its just these Americanized recipes that do (this one is Americanized - there is no dish called butter/makhani channa. Makhani chicken, yes). And yes, restaurant food contains all that, but homecooking is very healthy - we never…

Well for a 25lb loss in 6 weeks, I'd be asking how you're doing it too!
-
I made these the other day and they are DELICIOUS! I froze them and have been eating one every day :). One question though - they were pretty tall when I took them out of the oven but totally fell while cooling, anything I can do to prevent that? I did open the over a couple times while they were cooking, could that be the…

Add me! I also restarted about 6 weeks ago, a lot of my old friends aren't active so I'd like more! Good Iuck :)

Wow what kind of stuff do you make?? It usually takes me 2 hours to make like 2 dishes lol
-
Wow lighten up! I was responding to your comment, isn't that how a discussion works? If it makes you feel better I can be wrong too - I'm Indian but know nothing about Indian food. Happy?
-
No problem! Yeah I had everything on had too - I love that and how simple it is :)

Haters to the left, they are easy quick lunches! Overall I like the Smart Ones the best - the meat lasagne is so good! It's a lot of food, idk how they do it. The Lean Cuisine chefs picks are good too - I really like the chicken & noodles in peanut sauce and the Thai curry. They aren't a lot of food - supplement it with…

Well, my recipes are from my parents and grandparents who grew up in India so I don't have anything to look up lol. Don't know how you can get more authentic than that!
-
Yup, mine is pink and was $59 on amazon!
-
Lol I hadn't either - had to look up the Hindi word for it !
-
I do! It's pretty consistent - when I don't work as hard the cals are a bit less etc. And I don't feel like it overestimates - I burn about 200-240 cals walking at a high incline for 30 min. I'm not sure about circuit training, but I think you are only supposed to use it for steady cardio, not weights etc.
-
Duck Tales! The Smurfs were a close second :)
-
Ditto on the HRM- I'm obsessed with mine for workouts! It's a great motivator to see how many cals you are burning while you work out. I have the Polar FT4 an it's been great!

Hmmm, I'm Indian and have never put/heard of putting methi (fenugreek) in ctm... Yeah we don't use cornstarch either, but also don't make it in a crockpot so I don't know if the cornstarch is because of that.

@Krizzo -gorgeous eyes!

Well obviously you were under your calories...you lost almost half a pound a day!! I don't get it, how much did you expect to lose?
-
Sounds about right - 6lbs in 6 weeks and you have very little to lose, so that's a good pace.
-
Is there a typo in here...? 3lbs in 7 days is a LOT.
-
Thank you, these sound amazing!

I hate the taste of alcohol! But I love me some prosecco - since it comes in a flute it is portion controlled, about 70 cals a glass. Soda water/club soda are zero cal mixers - add those to some flavored vodka and a bunch of limes. Or sweet tea vodka with water and lemon - tastes like iced tea.
-
@Glynn - 18 in that pic! (I'm the brown one but you can guess my cousin's age too, double challenge :P) Edit - R2vq, 24?
-
The recipe looks good - but Indian dishes aren't high cal/fat when you cook at home. In restaurants, yes, like every other restaurant dish. But many dishes are light and healthy when you make them at home!
-
Agreed! Look up stuff before you eat - and I'm not sure why you expected a mcdonalds frappe to be the same NI as the almond milk/Splenda one you made at home...obviously theirs are going to use full fat milk/Ice cream and sugar. Chalk it up to a mistake, and next time look up items first.

truffle oil! I use a tsp on a big amount of popcorn - truffle oil is so flavorful that you don't need much at all. I also like olive oil - I use my misto to spray it on. Also add sea salt for both of these. Or I get the land O' lakes whipped butter that comes in a round tub - its delicious and only 50 cals/tbsp., 1 tbsp.…

Well, start by throwing away all that jarred stuff first of all LOL. Chicken curry isn't complicated at all but those random jars aren't going to get you anywhere - also coconut milk (or coconut anything) doesn't belong in North Indian chicken curry (which I'm assuming is what you want. Here's my traditional recipe: Brown…

To each their own, but it is absolutely not for me - I spent way too long getting an education and building a successful career to give it up. And I want to be a productive member of society, I would not be ok with my husband supporting me and not contributing myself.
