I eat cheese (full fat, it really satisfies me), almonds, yogurt, fruit, veggies, protein shakes

KEEMA MATTAR - delicious and super filling! Heat oil with whole cumin, cardamom, and some clove. Brown a little, then add 1 onion chopped & ginger and garlic paste. Add 1 lb ground beef, brown it, add salt, turmeric (half a tsp), red chili, ground cumin (half a tsp), and coriander powder (half a tsp). Add 2 tbsp of plain…

That's great! Those are just the basic ingredients you need, you can totally switch up the protein, not add water or tomato paste etc, add yogurt instead etc
-
You're welcome, let me know how it turns out!
-
Thanks all, I didn't realize it was so readily available! I miss making peanut sauce for chicken or noodles so this will be great :)

I like Premier protein shakes in the morning - sometimes I add berries, spinach, and kale to make a smoothie. For the rest of the day I drink sparkling water - you get great flavored ones! And I make a big batch of iced tea at home, and add a little stevia.
-
Yes of course. Add (almost lol) everything you put in your mouth.
-
Lol that's why I specifically said North Indian. Like each and every time I mentioned it.
-
I'd like to know too! And I know you can get it on amazon, but is it sold on any stores?
-
Sorry I think you missed my point - North Indian/Punjabi food does not/should not have coconut milk or cream or whatever in it, that is not how it is made. I don't mean for health reasons. (Source - I'm Punjabi.)
-
Agreed stromness! Indian food is all about the spices, which are calorie-free :). I don't know why people are obsessed with adding coconut milk, never in my life have I put coconut milk in (north) Indian food lol. I forgot to mention that you can substitute any protein for chicken. I make rajma (kidney beans) and channa…

If you're talking about Indian food, homemade Indian food is very healthy as long as you aren't making the few dishes with cream. I make Indian food even more now that I'm counting calories because it's so low calorie and flavorful. "Curry" isn't a specific dish, it just means any dish with a gravy/sauce (as opposed to…

I have a water bottle at work and another at home/at I carry everywhere, it really helps having it there all the time

Thank you everyone, adding you all!
-
Thanks everyone, we can do this!

I'm Indian, so here's an authentic recipe. No coconut milk in north Indian dishes. Brown a lot of diced onions (on low heat for a while - kind of like carmelizing them) in a bit of olive oil and then puree this in a blenderblender. Then add crushed ginger and garlic and brown all of it together (jarred is good, it needs to…

You burn calories just by being alive.
-
It hurts me. It physically hurts me.
-
You have lost weight...normal healthy loss is 1-2lbs a week an you are within that. I have PCOS too and it is unbelievably slow - last month I only lost 1.4lbs and I am meticulous about it too! Just keep at it, slow and steady wins.
-
I only count things where I am wearing my HRM and doing a workout - so taking a walk, housework etc doesn't count

Most homemade Indian food IS low calorie, the calorie heavy stuff is restaurant food - just like every other type of restaurant, that food will be much heavier than what you cook at home. For example, my dinner tonight - Kofta Curry, tomato raita, and rice, was 443 calories, and it was a LOT of food.
-
You have to enter the ingredients in the recipe database, then save the recipe so you can use it over. Its a bit of work but not really a big deal - I don't add all the spices, don't really think you need to since most don't have calories. You guys can add me as a friend if you want, I'm Punjabi and cook Indian food…

Great abs!
-
I'm the same way but I see no need to get rid of the craving - I eat some chocolate, a popsicle, ice cream, vitatops muffin, fruit with whipped cream, mini cheesecakes, etc.
-
Aww boo :(. Thanks for your input!

Ariel (your hair is gorgeous!)

I don't eat seafood either - so I end up cooking chicken most of the time. A new favorite quickie "recipe" is using TJ's Many Clove Garlic sauce - I sautee some chicken, then throw the sauce in and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. A couple min before its done I throw in mushrooms and capers. I've eaten it over rice or…

I have the same issue, its SO annoying :(. I actually don't wear pants anymore because of this - I have some skinny jeans (American Eagle jeggings fit well) that I wear on rare occasion, with a longer top that cinches my waist. But I'm much more comfortable in dresses that emphasize my waist and flow out - hiding the lack…

Then you definitely need this! Garlic is soooo yummy :)
