Go with a good craft/micro brew beer. They are higher in calories, but are better quality carbs, most are made with lots of good great grains, hops barley... etc. A heavier beer usually takes longer to drink (for some of us) so you may have one instead of 2 or 3. As others have posted- go with quality- not quantity-

You may be consuming too few calories and putting your body/metabolism into starvation mode.
