Hello from Columbia! I just recently got back on MFP. I would like to lose fat, gain muscle!

First of all, yay for your doctor testing your free T3 instead of just your TSH! My doctor had put me on Cytomel because of my free T3 being in the lower range (it should be in the upper 25%) and my energy level was so low. I too experienced heart palpitations and what was happening was my t3 would SPIKE right after taking…

I can't believe your endocrinologist prescribed you phentermine. Scary. Please feel free to email me on here. I have been hypothyroid for 19 years and have recently truly began to educate myself on the disease, fired my endocrinologist and took control of my own life and well being.

I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue as well. (I am also hypothyroid. Take synthroid and cytomel). My naturepath put me on "Dr. Wilson's adrenal rebuilder" (one in the morning) and "Adreset" (two around lunchtime). I noticed a huge difference! I wasn't crashing in the middle of the day anymore. Both of these are available…

I am so glad someone else posed this question. I was conflicted about this as well. I use olive oil on my salads and I put a tablespoon of coconut oil into my whey protein shake this morning and was floored by the calories. But...I know they are good for me. And I have noticed...the oils....um, help with digestion. :D As…

I was actually thinking the same thing (HYPOTHYROIDISM). that means your thyroid gland is underactive. and it can wreak havoc in every aspect of your body and life! but, one of the main symptoms is having no energy! i suggest that if you are on facebook, go like the page "thyroid sexy" and go to the FAQs. ask your doctor…

added scrambled eggs to my bacon this morning. the snack is going to be hardest for me. i like the smoothie idea, but i wonder are there some that are very low in carbs? i guess i can google that. thanks for ya'lls input.

here is my intake yesterday. and it is very high in protein actually: 2 slices bacon boneless skinless chicken breast cup of mustard greens tilapia asparagus water to me, this feels like three good meals. i am cutting carbs since i have had luck in the past with that. (other than what comes from the veggies). i am not sure…

OMG! i am so glad you posted this today. i was logging on to ask this exact same question. however, mine is a wee bit different. i eat what i feel to be three good healthy meals a day. but my caloric intake, for example yesterday, was only 372! my husband says my body will go into "starvation mode?" and i won't be able to…

Thanks for posting this. I am new to this and was thrilled upon completing my food diary for yesterday until I put in the bottle of red wine I drank. While I know I should curb my intake considerably, I am a drinker and will continue to do so. This article was a good read.

i am a low carber as well! i have had great success with it. first time, i lost 55 lbs in 2 months. i cut carbs hard and only get them from my vegetables. i don't eat anything with color (besides green). i am a huge meat eater, so the diet works great for me. i feel better and the weight comes off quickly. anyone feel free…

I also have hypothyroidism. Have had it since I was 19 and I am 37 now. My levels were always good until the past year and 1/2 and they started going crazy. Up and down and I ended up going to a specialist about it. We finally got it under control. Here are a few things I learned from the ordeal: 1) a low TSH does not…
