Diet Mentality. "If only the scale would show a loss, I would know it was a success" why do you need the scale to go down for it to be a success? Again.. Fat loss doesnt mean Scale loss:) I get it.. I know exactly what you are trying to say, but by focusing the the number and wanting it to go down in order to be…

Welcome to the group @lisabee18 Taking it nice and slow is key. The mental shifts that happen are far more important than the caloric shifts. Go slow, read lots, ask questions. We are here:) Kelly Team Em2WL

Welcome to the group @FlipNFly2 First off.. are you sure you are eating enough? if you are doing both weight training AND training for a triathlon, your body is in definite overdrive and needs to be fed properly. Have you taken a look at our calculator to find out what your TDEE should be?…

Hormones can affect everyone differently. If there is nothing in your diet or activity that would cause a change, and the only change has been the meds, then I would certainly chalk it up to coming off the pill. Kelly Team Em2WL

Im glad you are deciding to put the scale away. Focus on your eats and feeling good.. not about that silly number:) Kelly Team EM2WL

Keep in mind that a cut doesnt mean your body is instantly going to drop pounds in a linear fashion. Weight loss is not linear and it will still jump up and down and all around. Why are you focusing on the scale as your measurement tool, when these wonderful things are happening? Does it really matter right now if the…

Use the fitbit to help gauge your tdee.. but remember if it is saying 2100, it is NOT able to account for the calories burned with your weight training. If you have been eating 2300 and stabilized in your weight after a year, then 2300 is likely closer to your TDEE and dropping to 2100 will be a cut amount Kelly Team EM2WL

Its hard to live this path. Its hard to see the scale go up. But just remember this is about healing your body, learning to love yourself. Let go of the negative and trust you are doing right by your body and mind. The rest will come. You are well on your way and you WILL crush it! Kelly Team EM2WL

Have you tried your junk folder? it might be there. @TerezaToledo do you know anything about it?

The EM2WL group has made some movements over to the EM2WL forums as well as our online community in facebook. Those tend to be more active than here unfortunately https://www.facebook.com/groups/1754102281470874/ We still run and keep this group moving, but I think over time members have moved to other platforms that we…

I always love the looks people give me when I eat. it takes a while but eventually you just own it and you smile when they look at your plate. A lot of the time my friends will complain and moan about how bloated they feel or how much they ate, yet they ate nothing... I just smile and continue on my way. If someone does…

Hungry is a good feeling. it means your metabolism is demanding more food, so its good to listen to the cues and eat when you are feeling those pangs. :) Kelly Team EM2WL

You hit the nail on the head.,.. you have changed too many things all at once, so it is impossible to nail down the problem. First, its difficult for many people to eat more, because we have been programmed for so long so subside on so little. So our metabolism have gone down so low, its hard to imagine giving it more…

Hopefully this was enough to remind you the next time you feel the urge to drop back down to 1200, that the payoff does nothing for you, only damage your metabolism further. We have all been there. Ichel and I many times:) Its definitely not a failure, just a minor setback that can be corrected. Keep adding the cals back…

Hey Pamfgil welcome to the group! Protein can be very daunting to members because they dont realise how much protein we actually should be eating. I remember in my WW days, they used to tell me that 40g of protein was all I needed... Now i eat almost 250g of protein daily. Its a work in progress though and can take many…

Welcome to the group Alva! It can be very scary for anyone to think they actually need more food than the MFP set has you at. But it is so true.. 1290 cals is what a small child eats in a day.. and You are certainly NOT a child:) Try our calculator to see what your calorie level SHOULD actually be and work your way up to…

Cuts should only be a few weeks.. Some people find anywhere from 3-6 weeks to be plenty for a cut before jumping back up for a week or two and trying again.. The key is to always keep the body fueled so it doesnt start to make your Cut level, your new TDEE level.. Some people try to stretch to 8 weeks and then hold at tdee…

Welcome to the group! With your activity level, you will likely find your TDEE is going to be much higher than you anticipate:) Your job alone will put you in the active/very active category, so make sure you are using the calculator correctly, and selecting a high activity level, especially with formal exercise added in.…

I think both @empressichel and @scaryann1 have given you great things to go on.. the one thing I want to point out that you said in your post and I hope you can look at it and take it to heart: If you were successful, you wouldnt have had to go on a second dieting attempt to lose the weight again. Followed by the fact you…
