Great job!. I'm sure I'll be saying that again in your future.

technically it was yesterday... but I ate veggies with my three main meals. I hate veggies. The taste... alright. The texture.... blah. But I will be doing it again today to try to make it a habit. It's not like I eat for pleasure anyway. :)

Congratulations! I hope to be able to say that many more times to you :) I often have little 'goodbye ceremonies' at the scale each time I move down the a xx0. on the scale as a vow to myself i will never see that number again.

Because it's scientifically proven that eating too few calories is bad for you, and the people who are 'attacking' probably aren't attacking but being concerned. You put it out there, you have to deal with the response.

I think as long as you know you are already beautiful and loosing the 30 pounds to be a more healthier you, then it's great. But if someone smaller than me says something to the affect of 'i need to loose weight because I'm fat' then it's a bit irksome. I've seen women who were smaller than I will ever hope to be once I…

Start working on loving yourself regardless of the way you look. Being beautiful is not about how much fat we do or don't have. It's not about how flat or bumpy our bellies are, its about how we live and interact with the world.

I would suggest consulting a nutritionist. It's all great and grand to say you do it right and don't know what's going on. Talk to someone who has been certified and can help you balance what you need so you don't have these issues.

That's really not enough for anyone to help you with. Loosing weight depends on what you eat as well as the exercise. So it could be enough, then again it might not be. you have to look at the entire picture.

keep your weekly routine. Be active during the times you are normally at work. Get out go to a park, a bike ride, clean your house if need be... you get the idea. Also (the first time I lost weight) not having it in the house helped me. If i wanted ice cream, I had to get in a car... soda... get in the car. Since I now…

My diary is open. I honestly don't care what anyone thinks about it. However if I decided to ask a question of the community forums then I don't feel anyone would be able to help me if they couldn't see it.

It might not be defeating you, but it is definitely slowing you down. As long as you are happy then it's all good. Slow and steady will still get you where you want to go. It's not a race right? :)

I don't think a splurge day is a good idea. Perhaps a splurge meal or taking a reasonable day off every once in a while as a relief is ok. I had one yesterday. But I didn't do it as a reward. While you might not screw up your metabolism eating a little more one day a week. It makes it easier down the road to justify eating…

I have a disability that pretty much negates any high impact exercise. I do water aerobics four to six times a week at the local YMCA. I can't swim well, but swimming would also be a good exercise.

Well I just ate a 300 calorie meal and I'm full. 1/2 cup of brown rice, 4 oz of chicken and 1 1/2 cup of veggies. And this took me an hour. Not sure i could have done it all in one sitting. It's all about choices. I agree with those who say worry about you. Eat what is right for you. But it is possible to be satisfactorily…

I find that timing my meals helps me. If i get the urge to eat and I know its only an hour before my next meal time then it is easier to wait it out. I also spread my calories out over 5 little meals. So I eat about every 3 hours. edited to add: I agree with the chewing gum too. I am always in a constant supply. I found it…

http://www.changingshape.com/calculators/ideal-body-weight/ this page has a chart on it. I looked at the 5'2" goal for large frame and it matches my goal reasonably.

This was an awesome post. To those who are so quick to say 'this doesn't apply to me' or 'that's why I'm fat'. Keep in mind that the OP was sharing what she learned and what worked for her in hopes that it would help other people. For the parts that don't apply to you, ok they don't apply to you. You don't have to tear her…

First of off I want to congratulate you for losing 22 pounds! That's awesome. So now to the fact that you want to loose 40 bounds by the end of December... Is that 40 more pounds or 18 pounds? If it's 18 more pounds then it seems doable. You only have to loose about 0.4 pounds a day. Eat healthy and get a lot of exercise.…

I agree with the person who said drop the weight at a specific time goal and just focus on being healthy. It's not just about physical health, but mental health as well. You shouldn't pressure yourself for what the scale says, instead use that energy to learn more about what you can do about your eating and activity habits…

It's really what works for you. I don't have a 'hunger' mechanism. It's either I'm not hungry or I get a headache, my stomach burns, dizziness, nausea (generally one or two symptoms) because I've waited too long. So I eat try to eat 5 times a day and spread my calories out. it usually works out to every 3 hours. It really…

Be honest about your dietary and exercise habits. 'Haven't been the most dedicated' may be your problem. I don't believe in obsessing about what you weigh or how much way you are going to loose/gain over what you eat at the moment. Like yesterday I took a 'break' because I didn't have an alternative but to eat something I…

11.5 kg isn't a lot to loose. I don't think you could find a healthy way to consistently loose more than two pounds a week. Count calories, eat deficient but enough and exercise like hell.
-
It's not a set back. You are still down 4 pounds! Loosing 6 pounds in one week isn't really good for you. Depending on what you did, your body could have adjusted itself back. Start adjusting your diet and exercise habits in a healthy way and keep on trucking. Eventually the weight will come off and you will know how to…

also talk to your doctor. if it is right for you, they could prescribe a diuretic.

You are beautiful Anna. If a guy doesn't notice that then no amount of loosing weight or getting into fitness will make him worth you. By all means be healthy and more active, but don't loose weight because you think you're fat or huge. You're not. I'll send an add by the way so I can keep telling you what a beautiful…

I'm hypoglycemic and my hunger mechanism is screwed up. If I relied on physical indications I wouldn't know to eat until I couldn't focus, was nauseous or dizzy. I try to eat 5 times a day and spread my calories out as even as I can. That way I know my energy is constant. I've only had one episode of my blood sugar…

It is normal for a body to fluctuation in weight from day to day. When I lost weight the first time. I lost the first 30 pounds sitting on my *kitten* doing nothing but calorie deficient. I looked at my BMR calculator and tried to eat under that. But being a woman and all that goes with it, my weight still went up at times…

I aim to be about 500 calories deficient each day. For the month of October I lost 2.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.2 pounds each week. 7.8 pounds for the entire month. I eat between 1170 and 1400 calories each day. I do aim for at least 1200 but I'm not going to squabble over a few calories. btw I'm 5'2" 184.8 lbs (as of today) aiming…

It doesn't matter what you eat. If you over eat, you will gain weight. If you burn more than you eat, you will loose weight. How your body burns those calories depends upon many factors but that calories in > calories out = weight gain calories in < calories out = weight loss that said nutrition and exercise are very…
