I hope this ain't inappropriate but, DANG you look great!

I'm not sure if this is directly answering your question but I have found that the foods I craved the most were heavy on the salt. I loved nothing more than a can of mushrooms with cheese melted on top. So no I'm trying to restrict salt. While that's probably impossible I'm trying this to see if it works. Obviously drink…

I went to the "database". What is the exact title and do you list the sodium content? Thanks

Does that beeping work on the Polar FT7? I have not heard it beep once the heart rate is picked up. Maybe I need to trun the TV volume down, haha! Already got the elliptical and Polar FT7 HRM. got a moisture wicking shirt. Now I have two sets of those, (shorts and shirts).

Congratulations!! That is great news and I too have noticed an increase in the other area. without getting too visual my arthritic knees and lack of stamina is no longer an issue. Hmm. I wonder if I should wear my HRM next time!

I have also noticed the cloths already fitting looser and was able to button an old recently ill fitting shirt and felt good wearing it. Buff not really there yet. Also no one has said anything. I try to look at the positives, (cloths fitting), and not the negatives, (naked or compliments). (Yes, I'm talking to myself now…

You look awesome. And I want to congratulate you for on taking on such a task and being so victorious! You are an inspiration to all of us no matter what age!!

For one thing you can use a device called Flowlink to upload data to Polar's web site to help you keep track of your progress. Still trying to understand and work out the bugs. Considered the FT4 but as a guy and engineer I wanted more bells and whistles. lol

Sorry I movede this question to the exercise and fitness page. MFP staff please feel free to delete this one under "Introduce Yourself".. Thanks

Also I just started using it at home on my elliptical. Calories spent from HRM are less than the elliptical machine and even those are less than on the MFP site, (which I'm not sure if it takes your gender, weight or age into effect). This could be why I am not loosing as fast as I believed I should.

My "Oh Hell No" moment came a little differently. After buying an elliptical machine I canceled my YMCA membership, (I was one of their best customers as I paid dues and almost never went). This and joining MFP has helped me "see the light". I work for the US Navy and often climb near vertical ladders with 25 pounds of…

I just got a Polar FT7 and so far I love it. Still trying to learn it so I can use the data to effectively target the fat I want to burn. I also bought the Flowlink device to transfer to the computer, (have not used it yet). Used it on an elliptical aboard a ship at sea and device communicated with elliptical and tracked…

Just printed these all up. As a newby who needs to watch sodium as well as calories these are appreciated as are any and all suggestions. Keep 'em comin'!

I just ordered a HRM. Can't wait. I have a lower end elliptical, (NordicTrack e7.1), so I'm not sure if pulse/heart rate from grips influences the calorie rate or is it just related to the number of strides and difficulty of the canned excercise program. Elliptical did not ask weight or gender for set up.

Elliptical! I have arthrits and had a hip replacement in '05 and was looking at a knee replacement soon. After starting with my new elliptical machine I can now go up ladders on US Navy ships, (my job), with no pain and I have a whole lot more energy. I have also quit using all suppliments, (glucosamine, msms and…

Congrats! Now that's what I call an award!! Thanks for sharing and I love the smile!

Hello Ladies, Both my kids got married 3 years ago and my daughter is now expecting our first grand child, (girl). While these goals ARE important please don't forget to enjoy that special day! God bless you both, your future spouse and family to come!
-
Too funny Tony! About the iphone and other apple stuff. I have an android phone. Will MFP allow me to log, (aka store info), on my phone to be uploaded/calculated when back on dry land?
-
To a point. Both my kids got married 3 years ago and they LOVE to play games, any games, and at VOLUME. Can and usually does drive me nuts. I love them and I'm so glad that now my wife can play games with them and I can "pass" and not feel guilty, Oh and if they get too loud, elliptical and TV here I come!

I work for the US Navy and will be out to sea for 4 days. They do have internet connections but it is a royal PITA to be granted a connection and for this short trip it will be a NOGO. :noway: And at the distance we will be ... I think that about sums it up for the phone. :ohwell:

NordicTrack e7.1 and YES I would recommend it! Last month I quit the YMCA. I was one of their best customers as I paid and hardly ever went. Then I got my machine and joined MFP. After trying out some lower priced ones, (under $1k as this is all my wife would agree to with my track record :grumble: ), we purhcased a…

You do look fantastic. Also there is a group for those with hypothyiod issues here. You may want to check it out and join. (And this is for all the others who did not know of it). http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/770-hypothyroidism-and-hyperthyroidism

WOW. Looking Fab!!

Those are great for stregthening back muscles as well!

Jane, That's what I love about MFP. 1. You had a bad day and it's mapped out before you. Take it as a guide on how to change for the next day. 2. Ever notice that the next day you have a whole set of calorie monitoring to do. Yesterday is done and today is a new day! You get another opportunity for success! While that may…

I too like many others have sent you a friend request. No this is not for pity. We never need help with that do we? And no you are not a fraud. In the short time on here I have found some very caring people. We can support each other!

I bought a NordicTrack e7.1 after dumping my expensive YMCA membership, (I was one of their best customers as I hardly ever went). So far it works well. Best bang for the buck and closest to gym quality without breaking the bank, (under $1000 including 3 year in-home maintenance contract). I have many arthristis issues…

On the topic of "talk to your doctor". When was the last time you had a complete physical? Suggesting there may be some hypothiriodism here which is essentiallya slow metabolism. Don't know your issues and the psychological component can't be ignored. I believe most of us got here as a result of poor eating and excercise…

Wow and Great. You are an encoragement to us all!!

While I have not experienced this I do have tingling of the pinky and ring fingers after about 10 or more minutes of pulling, (this also occurs sometimes when I sleep). Any ideas?
