Hi. I am Candice and I have been an on/off runner for years. After finishing the 5k and 10k of the Rock n Roll in Vegas back in Nov. I stopped running. I am preparing for my summer vacation and now need to get back to running. I'm excited to join the group and hope to find good inspiration and motivation.

Count me in.

I agree with 126siany. You shouldn't try to run the entire 10k. There is nothing wrong with alternating jog and walking. You should determine what your goals are and focus on those. Hi Geek Chick, Not sure what constituents being a "geek chick" but from your post it sounds like we have a lot in common. I am 42 and I am also looking to lose about 80 lbs (although I am already down 15 YAY). I have a BS in Computer Science and I work in IT, does that qualify

I went out jog/walking today for the first time in over a year and after gaining 50 lbs. Since running a half marathon two years ago. I remember why I enjoyed my peaceful walks.

I eat two hardboiled eggs and a bag of apples. I boil a bunch of eggs on Sunday so they are grab and go during the week and I buy the pre-washed bags of organic apple slices at Costco so they are also grab and go. Doesn't sound like much but it actually keeps me satisfied quite awhile.
