Heavy is relative to the lifter and his/her background and strength. Heavy is anything I can do about 5 or less times and feel quite exhausted and need a recovery/rest period before attempting again.

Depends on how fast/slow you are walking and what kind of terrain you are walking on. Anywhere from 5-10 cals burned per minute is possible depending on your speed and intensity while walking. So maybe you are filling it in wrong.

I would look for a barbell set that came with iron weights instead of plastic, filled, etc. Rubber bumper weights (like are used in Crossfit gyms) are nice but are more expensive than iron so that may be out of the question for home use. Will it stop you from losing weight? At only 40-80 cals extra per day? Uhm, not unless you're eating a bucket of it...and not moving much. It might not be "the healthiest snack" by some fear mongers' reasoning but it has gelatin in it - good for the joints and bones!
