You are doing fine! You are more likely to keep it off if you change the way you eat PERMANENTLY and lose it slowly! You didn't gain it overnight; so you can't expect to lose it overnight either. Good luck and keep plugging away! Slow and steady wins the race! Mary

WTG! THAT is a wonderful feeling.

Congratulations! I started here on December 8. I BELIEVE that using MFP is making the difference in how well I do, my determination, etc. Mary

I peeked at your food diary. You need to make some healthier food choices. You need more fruits and veggies and less processed food.
-
Pull out some of your favorite recipes (that you have sworn off of) and see what you can do to make them healthier. Maybe even make the portion size a little smaller. That way you can have some food that you enjoy and not feel totally deprived. Good Luck! Mary

I MIGHT be considered old! I am 55 (soon to be 56). I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I bought a Harley last year! You are as young as you feel!

Fruit helps me to deal with my sugar cravings. Also you can cut the sugar in many recipes without altering the overall taste of the recipe. I also use Splenda Blend in some of my recipes. You use HALF as much Splenda Blend as you would sugar. Sugar free pudding is darned tasty! Try to find ways to make your favorite…

I have noticed that the flavored liquid creamers have more sugar/calories in them. I stick to plain Coffee-Mate. I buy a bottle of regular (I LIKE this one) and a bottle of low-fat (don't really like this one) and mix them together. That brings the calories down a little. USE a measuring spoon when putting it in your…

I Googled Steel Cut Oats in the crockpot and found all sorts of recipes.

Thanks! I sent this to my husband's niece. She can't figure out why she can't lose weight because she lives at fast food restaurants and goes to the gym occasionally.

I am working on losing weight and getting fit so I can continue to ride my Harley for many years. Does that count? LOL!

You CAN do this! This is a prime example of why diets DON'T work. You have to change the way you eat FOREVER and get active on a regular basis FOREVER. Temporary changes only give you temporary results. Good Luck! Mary

I bake 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts at a time and put them in the fridge. Then I cut them up/cube them and put them in bean soup, broccoli and rice, etc. Good Luck! Mary

Hi Deborah! I started here on 12/08/10. I need to lose AT LEAST 30 lbs. I have already lost 10 - WOO HOO! I love the food and exercise diary. SO many foods are already in the database. You can put your own recipes in here also. Keeping the diary, weighing and measuring my food, etc. has helped so much! I have learned what…

I joined MFP 12/08/10. I love it! I started weighing and measuring everything BEFORE I put it in my mouth. The database is very comprehensive, but you can put your own recipes in and come up with the calories too! I am on high doses of BP and cholesterol meds. Doc wanted to put me on diabetes meds. He said I needed to lose…

You look fabulous! That is an awesome accomplishment and you should be SO proud of yourself!

CONGRATULATIONS! You must be so proud of yourself. Mary

I have only been at this for three weeks, but I I started out on the treadmill and it took me 40 minutes to walk 2 miles. I can now do 2 miles in just under 31.5 minutes and that is with a little jogging - WOO HOO! Good luck to everybody! You have to celebrate the small accomplishments and not beat yourself up when you…

The hunger will ease up over time. I found that measuring and weighing EVERYTHING and recording it here BEFORE I ate it helped me to get a grip on portion sizes and made me MUCH more aware of what I was putting in my mouth. Also, as other said, making smarter food choices that are more filling but still low in calories…

DANG GIRL! You have done great and look awesome. Mary

WELCOME! I have only been here since last Wednesday, but I love this site. I have recommended it to several friends. One started using it yesterday. Sometimes angry is good! Use it to motivate yourself. Mary

I have only been at this since Wednesday. I have been measuring and weighing every thing. That has done TWO things for me. I now can pretty much eyeball specific amounts and measuring has let me know how much I was overeating before and makes me aware of how much I am putting in my mouth. Good Luck! Mary

I like my coffee in the morning. Are you aware of the calories in the flavored Coffee-Mate? I use the plain liquid Coffee-Mate and I measure it into my cup. I also use Splenda. I know the flavored Coffee-Mate has more calories than the plain. I used to drink a whole pot of coffee every day. I cut back to a half a pot over…

Doctor told me I needed to lose AT LEAST 30 lbs and get some exercise. So my initial goal is 30 lbs. According to the BMI calculator that is still overweight for my height. I am figuring I will need to lose another 5-10 lbs. That will be my 2nd goal. Mary
