If tuning out is not a possibility, is there another gym that would work for you? Honestly I see all types at my local YMCA and everyone seems to play nicely and keep to themselves.

Class action lawsuits aside (WTF?!), as others have said it's really not very good. Enjoy a cone of real ice cream every now and again, or buy those little Ben & Jerry's containers with a single serving in them as a treat.

I keep it simple as well. A trick I've found to sweeten them up a little is to squeeze the juice of an orange into the baked Sweet potatoes, add a few raisins and walnuts then top with cinnamon. A little zest from the orange gives it a bit of a kick as well. Some great recipes on this thread! :tongue:

My daily surplus was around 800 calories. I debated honoring the regimen I'm on but decided to celebrate the day and not worry about it. First thing this morning I was back in the gym, and back on plan.

This. A lot (if not most) of those shakes are junk food in a glass. Use this opportunity to re-learn how to eat healthfully in order to nourish your body. (Easy to say, harder to do I know!)

Any inclination to rant I may have is overcome by remembering that my nephew just returned from Afghanistan last night and will be at the Thanksgiving table tomorrow. Y'all have a great holiday ... hope it goes smoothly for everyone. :)

My question to you would be what sort of food are you eating through the day? It could be food choice rather than timing.

I've never noticed anything like this. My weight loss tends to be fairly steady.

Kristen: I just started the Paleo diet a week ago, so take this for what it's worth ... I am counting calories in order to keep track of my daily calorie deficit. My protein target is 150g/day or more. Personally, I'm finding if I hit my protein target, the calories take care of themselves.
