  • I love: Yogi's Ginger Tea Peppermint Tea Republic of Tea's Double Red Rooibos Chrysanthemum or Chrysanthemum Seed Tea both have really different and interesting flavors if you can find them. It's pretty common to find at Asian markets or tea shops if you live in an area with a large international district.

  • It's not an impressive pose or anything, but lowering down to the floor from plank pose slowly and without my arms shaking or without using my knees, and then pushing out of cobra into downward dog without bending my back in awkward ways, has been giving me trouble since I restarted doing yoga regularly about a month ago.…
  • Average daily intake is recommended to be around 4700 mg daily. That can be difficult to achieve, and it's very difficult to track here on MFP because it's not required to be on food labels (in the US, not sure about elsewhere), and even when it's included a lot of people don't input that info into the food database here.…
  • I would try not to take it too much to heart. The quality of clothing (even premium denim) has been on a steep downward slope. The hems and seams of my clothes rip or fall out all the time, and it's not because they don't fit. It's because they aren't properly finished and are often sewn with improper thread for the…
  • I just want to say that there are other treatment options other than pills if depression is what you are facing. Just tell your doctor that you don't want to jump straight to medication and would like to consider other options first. I've had great success with cognitive behavioral therapy (even just on my own when I feel…
  • Olive oil, lemon juice, and a sprinkle of salt - roasted in the oven at about 350-375 with some sort of protein baking on the same baking sheet until the protein is done (~25 min. give or take). Typically I roast it with a thick cut of salmon.

  • Yes! The recipes on Budget Bytes are amazing! I typically increase the amount of veg. she calls for and slightly decrease the amount of pasta or rice (if called for).
  • ^This. If you let your water cool for about 2-3 minutes once it's reached a boil and then pour it over the leaves, it shouldn't be bitter. Maybe a little "grassy" depending on the type of leaves, but not bitter.

  • Absolutely bump for inspiration!
  • I don't agree with everything that Whole Foods sells or does, but they have the best (freshest) produce, largest bulk bin selection, and the only milk bottled in glass bottles (grass fed and local too) of any grocery store in my area. I spend a little more than I would at the Kroger (not much more though), and since I'm…
  • I love: -Yogi's Ginger Tea - actually an herbal blend of ginger, lemongrass, and some other things… [Edited to add that this tea is like some kind of miracle elixir for heartburn/nausea/stomach aches -- My husband takes it with him whenever he has to travel.] -Celestial Seasonings - Candy Cane Lane; Sleepytime Vanilla But…
  • I think that if you are still losing weight and/or inches, then you are probably fine if that's your only goal. If you are also worried about nutrition/health, then I think that you should definitely try to incorporate more vegetables into your diet. I'm surprised that no one has pointed out the lack of color in your diet…
  • The calories are probably largely from the syrup. Don't let them fool you -- it's never just one pump. I've seen them squirt as much as 6 pumps of syrup into a 12 oz. That's a lot of sugar.
  • The not washing hands after using a public bathroom gets me every time. I get paranoid that someone outside of the bathroom is not going to hear the water running in the sink and think I didn't wash my hands. How do people not feel shame about not washing their hands when someone actually is present to witness their not…
  • It's also possible that you've said no enough times that they just don't bother to ask anymore. My husband is dealing with something similar at his new office. No one really teases him about his food choices, but a lot of his coworkers go out together for lunch. Not only is it about making new work place friends for him…
  • I'd love to be added to the group also, if that is still an option.
  • I'd like to join. I'm 5'5" and currently 186.
  • I'm from south of Pittsburgh, but I live in Colorado now.

  • I took a look at your food diary, and you seem to be eating a relatively healthy diet with the exception of two things: 1.) Not quite enough calories, which an lead to malnourishment or nutritional deficiencies. I think your goal of 1200 kcals is okay, especially if it is leaving you feeling full, but you should really try…

  • I read mention in a book recently that human beings are actually really terrible at perceiving weight -- both visually and physically, as in by lifting a weight. That's why we need to actually weigh produce when we buy it. Example: I'm great at perceiving a volume of mushrooms (such as enough for 2 cups) when I try to buy…
  • When I first got out of college and decided that I had to teach myself to cook stuff that didn't come frozen or dried in a box, I didn't have much money for food. I eventually stumbled upon a blog of a woman living in Brooklyn that almost single-handedly helped me do it. It's called Cheap Healthy Good.…
  • I really like recipes from Eating Well the magazine. They feature a ton of their recipes for free on their website, eatingwell.com. They aren't exclusively low-carb (though there is plenty of that), but the recipes all list nutritional info and the estimated amount of time it takes to make them. In my experience, their…
  • I have about four "go-to" breakfasts right now that I cycle through: 1.) Smoothie. Right now that usually means: banana; peanut butter; plain yogurt; handful of spinach; ground flaw seed; wheat germ; splash of milk. 2.) Homemade frozen breakfast burritos - egg; black beans; salsa; cheddar; flour tortilla. 3.) Hardboiled…
  • No. No you are not. *Edited: About the memes, I mean.
  • If you have an eating disorder, then so do I because you've just described me as well. (Aside from the alcohol - I still drink).
  • I thought that the taste was alright, but it was so stiff and dry. I found myself just dumping moist condiments, etc. on it in a bad way.
  • To Catch-a-Riiiiiiide!
  • I agree in general, but as an editor, the flippant use of the word "chemical" to classify certain "bad" additives and ingredients always makes me laugh. BEWARE of drinking WATER, it contains the CHEMICAL H2O!
