I do a visual of the fat around my middle - looks like a doughnut with me standing through it.

I'm not worried about being "skinny" for fitting into some chart measurements, but I do want to be able to move and be healthy, and for me, that means losing at least another 70 pounds or so. I'll get there, but I've never been, nor will I ever be, skinny.

Lees fit my body best.

Feel free to add me. - On here for the long haul :)

Congratulations on taking the first step on making your lifestyle healthier. I'm with you there and if you would like to add me as a friend, I'd be more than happy to help support you.

It's hard to believe, but if you eat too little, your body will shut down it's metabolism. You need to eat all of your calories and see if that doesn't boost your metabolism and jump start you again.

Swimming tonight after work.

I would ask his pediatrician for advice.

Great Post. It just goes to show that small changes lead to big successes.

You can't judge a "wall" - sounds like you're doing everything right. Stick with the plan and you'll see results, just like you've done in recent weeks. Don't give up!

I've been on here consistently for the past 8 weeks or so, and plan on being here the rest of my life. (My lifestyle change)! So feel free to add me as a friend. I have 100 pounds or so to my goal weight! Glad you're back!

My reward is going to be breast reduction surgery. I've been carrying these alien things around all my life. I've visited a plastic surgeon and it's been approved by insurance. But he wants me under 200 lbs. to do the surgery. So I will be there in 70 lbs. This time next year is my goal.....

As far as nutrition goes, there is no benefit in eating gluten free (such as regular spaghetti versus gluten free spaghetti). But for those who are sensitive to it, it greatly benefits them.

LOVE victories such as these!! Great to hear!

I'm a garlic fiend, so I like garlic hummus the best, with fresh cukes.

Hi, feel free to add me as a friend. I'm here for the long haul (have over 100 to lose), but I'm on my way. Best way to eat is "clean." By that I mean the perimeter of the grocery store and not the center aisles. Fresh fruit and veggies, grilled meats, dairy and few breads. Natural foods, not processed. As to exercise,…

Good for you! I quit smoking about 35 years ago. My husband is still a pack a day man. If I could only get him to quit!! The financial aspect alone is worth it, not to mention what it will do for your health. Again, congratulations!!

I've given up candy and for the most part sweets. For some reason, if I eat something sweet, my body craves more sweets. That horrible sweet tooth! Other than that, I'm pretty much eating what I want in moderation and, most importantly, logging it!!!

I have over 100 lbs to lose still also, so feel free to add me as a friend. I agree with Fsunami's great pointers. I added him in the beginning and he is always posting inspirational messages. Please know that you are not starting a diet. You are starting a lifestyle change. I believe one of the most important things you…

You are my guru! :)

For me it has just become something I do. I get out of bed, I shower, I brush my teeth, I take my medicine, I go to work, I eat my breakfast (and track it), I eat my lunch (and track it), and I eat my dinner (and track it). Most of the time I don't log my exercise, mostly because I don't want to see the added calories back…

I just think counting calories is holding yourself accountable about how you are treating your body. Simple as that.

My husband and I are losing weight together. I have a whole lot more to lose than he does. In the past 8 weeks, I've lost 18 and he's lost 22. And he eats a whole lot more than I do. It's a journey. He probably will only lose about another 20, while I have about 110 more to lose. We are both feeling better and it's not…

My goal is 130 lbs. I've gotten rid of 18 lbs so far and it's taken me 8 weeks (I'm 54). My initial goal was 10 lbs. per month. I haven't hit that, so I've re-evaluated my age, activity, lifestyle, etc., and have reset my goal to 8 lbs. per month (2 lbs per week - a very realistic goal I think) and that way, if I exceed…
