I get about that much protein a day and I drink a shake maybe twice a month and it's usually to get my calories up after a big burn day. I'll make my diary public and you can check it out if you want. I eat lean meats, fish, beans, lentils, eggs, quinoa, etc.

YES I eat every last one I can and go over that sometimes too. I learned the hard way what starving your body will. (Eating 800-1000 calories and burning 700- 2000) It's just not worth it. I said the same thing this time last year a lot of you are saying now "What's the point in burning calories just to eat them again" " I…

I usually spend 5-6 days at the gym. 4 days of weights and light cardio and 1-2 days of all cardio. When it warms up I'm not at the gym as much because I'll spend 4-5 days a week cycling 150-200 miles.

Sorry to break the news to you but it's likely wrong. Without a chest strap it hard for any HRM to monitor you constantly or correctly. So I would say it's way off.

^^^^^ This!! I love lentils!!

Yes I agree with the ones who say you need to eat more. I made the same mistake when I first started and I really regret it so learn from others mistakes. Even if you doubled your intake to 2000 calories and burn off 1000 a day you are essentially giving your active body only 1000 calories to function off of. If you burn…

I get what you're saying but no it doesn't bother me at all.

If you have a bunch of calories left over on workout days, eat those calories on your rest days so at the end of the week you don't have a bunch of extra claories left over.
-
^^^^^^ This is so true. I did same thing a lot of people do when they first come to MFP eat very low calories and exercise my but off and some day burning as much as 2500 calories. (I'm a cyclist just in case you are wondering how I burn that many calories) I did not eat my exercise calories back and thought anyone who did…

Water does not flush fat out of your body! Water helps to keep you hydrated and flushes excess sodium out of your system which can show up as weight gain on the scale. Your body performs better when it is nicely hydrated and who doesn't like a good performing body!!

I cleaned my house, cooked and ran around with my son before I came here and none of it helped me to lose weight. I only log actual exercise that I do at the gym and workout DVD. That's just my opinion. If you are running around a lot then maybe put your activity level to lightly active and that should give you a few more…

I just spit water on my desk on this one!! LMAO!!

Don't forget to remove your contacts those things can weigh a ton!!!
-
Absolutely ok!! It doesn't matter when you consume those calories just as long as you do eat them!
-
MFP already has a deficit built into your calories so you could the eat the calories MFP gives you and NOT workout and STILL lose weight. When you exercise you create an even BIGGER deficit which is not good for the body and it will cause you to hold on to your weight instead of losing it. I thought the same thing too and…

YES!! You want that number as close to 0 as possible as long as you are logging correctly and tracking your calorie burns with a HRM that has a chest strap. If not then you can leave a few just in case your calculation are off.
-
If you are not eating those exercise calories then essentially you are giving your body 800 calories to survive so no you are not eating enough. If you are eating at least 75% of those calories then yes you are fine.

Oh I am totally opposite!! I love lifting and the feeling of strength and power I get from it. I love watching my body change, my muscles pump up and I really love when I progress to a heavier weight. I would much rather lift weights than do cardio any day but I know I need both! Maybe if there is a Group Power or Body…
-
Well I taught Group Power (which is like Body Pump) for two years and I used 30lbs on my bar for biceps and the track last 4-5 mins so I had good endurance from that. Then I stopped teaching and started free weights last year for a few months but I couldn't progress because I was starving myself and not realizing (eating…

-
You can search the Groups. There is already one for bodybuilding that you can join.

I agree that you are probably not eating enough. With only 35 pounds to lose set your goal to only lose 1/2 pound a week instead of 2pounds (I'm just guessing that's what it's set at since MFP gave you 1200 calores) and then eat your exercise calories. Have a couple days out of the month where you eat at least at maint.…

No riding for me today as it was rainy but I did get in 3 days of riding this week and it feels good to be back on the road again. Need to take Fiona (my bike) in to the LBS for a tune up and new handle bar tape. She and I got in over 3000 in 2011 so she is due for a check up.
