  • You can add me...I like people who look at life from a different angle [yours being sideways in your photo!] I;ve not been here too long myself but am doing fairly well and have found lots of people here are very willing to help and encourage you on towards your goals Sky x
  • I don't expect him to cook He doesn't expect me go climb onto a 40 foot roof to clean the gutters out Stereotypes...maybe Happy with our situation...you bet
  • Hi there, Was born in Billericay, lived in Basildon, worked in Southend, moved to Northlands, moved to Eversley and landed in Colchester Guess that makes me about as Essex as I can get! Happy to be added as a friend Sky x
  • He looks soooo cute  My last hamster was called Mad Riley....or as we liked to call him Smiley Riley Pie Face....don't ask! Oh OK then... He was out running about on the back of the settee while i was eating a slice of dessert and he suddenly launched himself off the back. over my shoulder and landed face down right…
  • Sent you a PM Sky
  • Colchester Calling! *waves to say hello*
  • Thanks so much for your detailed reply...hope you don't mind but I'd like to PM you Thanks Sky x
  • Me too...I agree that it has a sweeter almost cleaner sort of taste to it. i used to use a lot of Splenda [I know...Boo Hiss!] but then switched to Purevia and Truvia for when I want to keep my sugar calories lower At the moment though I have tried to use Honey from my own bees instead as I just love the flavour [and it's…
  • Class! BTW that's an English slang way of saying "great" in case anyone was wondering!
  • Make sure that you have plenty of space to not just work out but to take into account any off balance wobbles you may have. {Last fitness DVD I tried I toe punted my poor dog across the room after doing a bit of an unplanned sideways stagger} :blushing: He's forgiven me but now slopes off to lay beside the Aga as soon as…
  • Hi all, Am just waiting for my disks to arrive [hopefully they will be here on Saturday]. Am very afraid that I'm not going to be fit enough to do it but am darn well going to give it my best shot. I have quite bad asthma and a bit of a dodgy knee but neither or those things have ever stopped me doing anything I've really…
  • Thanks for taking the time to reply folks, I spoke with the Ki-Fit people and you just have to re-enter your goals by going in under the Profile>Goals setting part to reset it from scratch. Much appreciate the responses Sky x
  • I like to have a little pot of low fat Yogurt or Sugar Free Jelly if I fancy something sweet or a Babybel or other light cheese on an oat cracker if I want something savoury. I also keep little mini packs of wafer thin ham, beef or chicken in the fridge so that they are at hand if I don't fancy cooking something Sky x
  • DOH! Got the hang of it now...thanks so much for your help Sky x
  • I weigh in once a week on a Wednesday morning when I get up and after I've had a pee! I also measure myself as sometimes if I haven' lost any weight I may still have lost an CM or two on the tape...this keeps me from being disheartened if I've not lost anything. I like weighing in on a Wednesday as then if I've had a bit…
  • Hi there and well done for starting...even if it isn't the best possible day...as you say, you can always find a reason to postpone. When I go to our local Indian restaurant, which I do fairly often I have either the Tandoori chicken or Tandoori lamb as a starter [just coated in yogurt spices and then baked]. As a main…
  • Sent you a PM Hope it helps Sky x
  • I love doing the less tender cuts of Bambi in my slow cooker and use a basic red wine sauce made with Chianti, mushrooms, shallots, sliced smoked pancetta or bacon and a big dollop of redcurrant jelly. I have also used it to replace the beef in the Rick Stein Strogonoff recipe here:-…
  • You looked beautiful before ..... but it's clear from your smile that you are happier being slimmer and healthier and that smile and joy is what is making you even more beautiful now Very well done, fantastic achievement Sky x
  • Hi Mike, You can add me if you like....am always happy to cheer on from the sidelines. I only joined about three weeks ago but post every day and have an open diary. I lost 7lbs before I joined and have lost another 3 here with about 18lbs to go to my target. My last blogs and board topics were on eating dog chocolates,…
  • I try to eat as cleanly as possible - any ready meals and processed foods tend to make my heartburn and reflux worse [as does Jack Daniels!] I eventually went to see the doctor and now I have Lansoprazole daily....doesn't affect my weight loss at all. If its something you are having regularly then you should get it checked…
  • Hey there! I'm not sure if I mentioned it to you on the newsfeed but I just invested in the Ki-Fit...it's the UK version of the BodyMedia device. It's brilliant and links in with MFP no probs. The food diary that you get with the Ki-Fit subscription is a bit naff as it only has generic foods in there and no named products…
  • Thanks for posting this as I've only been on MFP for a fortnight and didn't realise I could alter the calorie intake figs etc Will have another try now Sky x
  • LMAO *wipes tears away* Brilliant story x
  • Yep...I've used Ready Brek before which is sort of milled oats that you just pour hot milk on so I know it works. It may soak up the moisture from the banana a bit more quickly though as its fine ground so maybe try using a little less than 50g at first and see if the mixture goes to crumbly and if it doesnt' then add…
  • LOL I probably burn a whole load of calories willy nillying around the aisles looking for stuff In fact I think I should add it as an exercise category
  • Yay! Thanks a lot! Have just posted my own recipe for 64 calorie banana bars under Sky's Oat Bran Banana Bars x
  • I've got the Ki-Fit [UK version of the Bodymedia] and had so many problems with synching that I have had to unsynch the accounts. The UK Ki-Fit site is useless for anything other than the most basic of foods so I was logging the food here on MFP and it was [accurately] transferring the data over to the Ki-Fit site So…
  • Colchester, Essex calling! Logging in every day and happy to have as many friends UK or otherwise. Heck....I don't give a whistle if you're from Mars as long as you're friendly Mmmmm! *Drools* .....*sighs* "Mars Bars" Err.......sorry, got sidetracked there for a minute! Thank goodness there' are no calories added for…
  • Hi there, Welcome to the site. I'm fairly new here myself [only joined about a week ago] and am absolutely astounded by the support I've already received. I've been looking at upping my exercise and with that in mind have just invested in a Bodymedia gadget [called the Ki-Fit here in the UK] I do quite a bit of hiking…
