Fruit is good but its carbs are released slowly, be sure to have a handful or pretzels or something similar if you go for fruit. An apple and some peanut butter is good too, if you're into that! I make a ton of rice and lentils for the week that I snack on after my runs and it seems to keep the DOMS at bay.

Also, do not allow yourself to be discouraged by one bad eating day. Hold yourself accountable and strive to remain within your caloric goals the next day. You've got this!

I'd say my partner is pretty perfect. He is intelligent, rational and considerate of my feelings. He makes time for me while maintaining a busy work and school schedule. He inspires me to live a more active and healthy life. We have fun and strange conversations often. I admire his loyalty, honesty, and ability to…

Hummus. I could eat an entire tub of hummus and not even bat an eye. Dark chocolate is another weakness but I've gotten to the point where I can have a 20 calorie portion and be more than content with it.

I realized one day I was over 200 pounds and while I…

I am going to go out on a limb and assume each of those photo's was an individual child's snack choices for the day. If that is the case, the original poster completely had a valid point. These were appalling not only because the lack of effort as shown by the abundance of processed foods but just how many calories and…

Dark chocolate has positive benefits... IN MODERATION!! Cacao nibs are also pretty delicious and beneficial.

A sand colored blazer is my goal article of clothing. I purchased it online and was devastated to see what it didn't fit. Instead of returning it, I vowed to lose some weight in order to look good in it.

This exactly. "Moist..." There is never an appropriate time to use that word.

I really abhor baby talk. All of it. I know adult women who use it in conversation with fellow adults. Its bad enough when gibberish is spewed at children but using it in everyday conversation? Beyond ridiculous. Bad grammar and a poor grasp of the English language is also irritating. As is superfluous swearing. /end rant/

Hey there! I wish you the best in your journey to better health. I have recently begun counting calories, training for a 5k and quit smoking. I read the book Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking: The Easyway To Stop Smoking and its been 3 and a half weeks since my last smoke. After 10+ years of smoking, I feel better than…
