You are SO awesome!!

I say just try your best to keep everything in moderation & enjoy it!

This.

Thanks guys!

You're not eating enough. Calculate your BMR & NET at or slightly above it. I know it sounds contradicting, but (accurately) eating more helps you lose. & keeps you healthy.

I honestly don't see how that status is that big of a shocker or invasion of privacy. Guess I've just seen WAY worse...
-
I agree. I was eating too little on WW, even with the bonus weekly points!

This!

Well the whole "don't eat after 7pm" thing is a myth, so don't worry about that part. You should be at least netting your BMR.
-
Amen.

Thanks for posting, looks SO good!

Wait so I can't eat a serving of french fries & lose weight or be healthy? Dang I've been doing it all wrong! ;)
-
I couldn't have said it better myself! Especially #2. I have realized that after years & years of being on & off WW & then finding MFP & researching about BMR's & how many calories I should be eating. MFP all the way for me too! Plus it's free!

I actually didn't do anything with the HR...just changed my age. So I need to do both tests to find a different HR? I'm sorry if I seem slow, I just get confused with all of this! lol. Thanks for helping me!

Just had a quick question- I just experimented with this & changed my age from 24 to my new "calculated age", 32. My HRM said I burned 9 more cals with this particular exercise than I did when my age was set to 24. Does this sound right? Just want to make sure I have everything set up correctly & burning 9 more cals is…

<3 Chalene. Jillian's not my "type" of instructor. ;)
-
Okay, changing it now. I've read many of your forum posts/responses to know that you do your research & know what you're talking about. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I appreciate it.

I don't plan on it, but it sometimes happens this way for me. Just depends if I'm going out for dinner, if I'm wanting to splurge a little more that day, etc. The deficit is set up for the week (Monday-Monday). As long as your #'s are within range on your weekly net cals at the end of the week, you're fine.

I have the FT4 & love it. It's all about personal preference, they each have different things they do. Just go to the Polar site & read about each one, & figure out what you want most from the HRM. That's what I did. Good luck choosing! :)
-
If I did this correct, I have the metabolism of a 38 yr old...& I'm 24. This makes me sad. So I should put age 38 into my Polar FT4 instead of 24? Is that correct?
-
Nothing. :) Just smaller portions of it all.

Thank you so much for this post! I've stalled on my weight loss (could be from just starting Turbo Jam- I have lost a couple inches), so I've raised my net to 1565 which is my current BMR. Will be happy if I can eat more & lose :) Thanks again for all of this info, it was fun to read.

Love this. Agree 100%!
-
I will be wearing my HRM so I will be eating the appropriate amount of calories back.

To the people with genuine comments, thank you! To those who think I love controversy & just wanted to keep it going, I was simply stating that I was tired of hearing diff. answers pertaining to the subject, as it confuses me. Thanks for taking the time to put in your useless two cents though ;) To the helpful comments, I…

When I make a pot of something, I transfer it all into another big bowl using a "1 cup" measuring cup & count how many 1 cup servings there were. It takes some extra time, but this is the only accurate way I've heard to do it.
-
This definitely makes better sense. I hope that's how they meant it. Thanks for your response! :)
-
That would definitely make sense, but in this article they were saying you could burn up to 1,000 cals per workout. So I think they were just saying its pointless to even do the exercise if you're going to eat those calories back. It's just discouraging to hear that when that's what I do.

Okay I just realized that particular paragraph wasn't from Beach Body's site, it was an article about TJ on Livestrong. Still rubbed me the wrong way though!
