  • In for 50 miles again! Really missed the mark in August. I have been on vacation x 2 weeks, and have done a lot of walking but no real running. August 6.....5.22 miles on the Monon trail. First run in 2 weeks due to being on vacation. The first 2 miles were really hard, was out of breath despite being in the zone. After 3…
  • I know that I am late chiming in but wanted to track how much running I did in August. Unable to keep up with all the posts. I last read page 30, I think.

  • My husband gave my an ultimatum about my running probably a year ago. I explained how much I enjoyed running and how it was a stress reliever esp. for my extremely stressful job. He should have understood since he also worked there. He wasn't budging, but I, like you, wasn't giving up running. I gave him the silent…

  • @MegaMooseEsq Thanks for the shout-out! I feel the way that you do during the first mile to mile and a half. I learned that after I break a sweat, it is a lot easier. The last time I ran, I felt okay after a half mile, but it was extremely hot, and I broke a sweat faster. Do you run with music? To me, it is way harder to…

July 8....2.28 miles on the treadmill plus weight lifting. Nicer weather but I was limited on time. July 11...7.2 miles....another hot and humid day. July…

  • Great job, Ralphone! I have great desire to snack after I have been up all night. I find that drinking a bottle of water helps with keeping it under better control.
  • Only 319 posts behind! Lol! Just wanted to post my miles quickly. I have a long stretcg of work days ahead. Trying to continue to lift weights as well. • Have you conquered the late night snacking, Ralphone?
  • Missed goal by a lot last month. In for 50 miles this month. Also continue with 2 x per week weight lifting.
  • My goal is 3 runs per week minimum with a total monthly goal of 70 miles. And to keep up with this thread (sort-of) Not going to make goal due to have a late start. Oh well....maybe I can achieve 50 miles this month. Today was hot and humid. I waited until 7:30 to drive to my running park, because I thought that it would…
  • Treadmill mishaps are the worst! I have accidentally hit the stop button as well. Yeah, you really can't control the pace that much. Now I am just using the treadmill to warm up before lifting weights. I never think of it as a substitute for running outdoors.
  • Cool! We are renting a house in Custer from August 26th to September 2nd. We wanted to avoid the Sturgis bike festival. Also I knew I would have a better chance of getting my vacation granted if we picked a time in late summer. How long will u be in the area? Definitely we should meet if you are still there.
  • My goal is 3 runs per week minimum with a total monthly goal of 70 miles. And to keep up with this thread (sort-of) So my plan was to go to the gym after my hair appointment. I chose to take some pictures downtown, because I am rarely in the area (my hair stylist moved her location a few months ago). There are little…
  • So this weekend I am working 3-in-a-row after being off x 10 days due to an episode of food poisoning. Last night was a great night, got out on time. Tonight I am thinking that I could stop at the gym on my way home and run a little on the treadmill and crank out a quick leg workout...lunges, leg presses, etc.…
  • That's terrific. The first mile is always the worst! Way to tackle the distance!
  • Good luck! Focus on having fun! Very cool, by the way!
  • Congratulations, Ralphone! There is a great article in mfp about how the liver processes glucose while one sleeps and after it depletes its glycogen stores, it starts burning fat stores. So the earlier one stops eating, the better. It was an eye-opening article. I often save my snacks for late and then go to bed. The…
  • Really hungry after drinking beer at a concert. Alcohol seems to aggravate the desire to snack.
  • My goal is 3 runs per week minimum with a total monthly goal of 70 miles. And to keep up with this thread (sort-of) So somehow I got food poisoning on the night of 6/4 and started vomiting at 4 a.m. on 6/5. It was awful. I slept most of the day and totally lost my appetite. Also missed a week of work. I decided to go to…
  • I am jealous of your calorie intake. 2 weeks isn't a plateau....it is usually defined as 6 weeks without a weight change. Hang in there.
  • Awaiting the Belmont Stakes. My interest in running started with horse racing. Anyway if Justify doesn't win today, then my hunch bet is Hofburg. His trainer is from South Dakota and we are vacationing in South Dakota this fall. I just want everyone to be safe today.
  • No late night snacking due to being sick and lost my appetite. Great job Ralphone!
