On a similar note, What's up with alkaline water? I was buying water the other day, and totally confused by the types of water on the shelf, smart water, alkaline water....etc. What the hay? What happened to plain old H2O?

Good luck on your half marathon. I hope that you have great weather and that you smoke it.

You will probably gain weight initially as you reintroduce foods back into your diet. I would push back the goal of a 20 pound weight loss by the end of September. Maybe by the end of the year. It's better to lose it slowly rather than yo-yo. Just ease into it.

@juliet3455 I too wondered about your screen name. I thought that maybe your name was Jules, and your dad called you Juliet because you had long hair, or a "boy named Sue" (Johnny Cash song), etc. The imagination runs wild. LOL @_nikkiwolf_ I ran a half marathon a few years ago, named the Monumental (in Indy)...where the…

@MNLittleFinn That was a super recap of your coaching call. I can't wait for your race and race report. I think that rather than flame out, you will smoke it! Did he give you any advice about the mental part of the race? Whenever I am in a long race, I have to fight the mental "time to quit" messages my brain sends me.

Please have this checked out. Anything that interferes with breathing is scary. I am glad that your husband is getting a port-a-cath. He will really enjoy having not be stuck all of the time as well. Much more reliable that he is getting the medicine that he needs. Sometimes those IV's can migrate out of the skin.

Tetanus or rabies shots? Did you like working at the zoo? It sounds like a fun job.

@ereck44 - I just did the Carmel Marathon. I know it is boring in some ways compared to the Mini, but it does have some advanatages. Sounds like you have run the Mini several times, but I always hear from those who do that it is just miserable on the track and that it is so crowded you never get to where you aren't worried…

@_nikkiwolf_ Great race report. I loved all of the detail. Super job of pr'ing by 11 minutes. And, all of this, after dealing with knee pain and sore feet. You are as tough as nails! @angmarie I hope that you feel better soon. @lporter229 Your dog seems proud to be displaying her medal. Great pic @girlinahat Your race…

May goal is 50 miles.I am running a half marathon tomorrow. It was a taper week. I ran 3.66 miles yesterday on the treadmill. My legs were tight after working a couple of night shifts. My legs felt so much better. It has been raining hard this week in Indy and I am concerned that it is going to rain during the race. I…

In for 50 miles again. I have planned 2 half marathons this month. So will have 2 tapering weeks.

So today I planned my long run (14 miles). At first I thought that I was going to have to go to the gym and use the treadmill. A thunderstorm was supposed to be going through Indy at 3 p.m. At 3:20, noted no thunderstorms. So I decided to run on the Monon until it rained or until I completed the 14 miles. I was okay with…

@Stoshew71 Awwww...you did great! Did you have to avoid large puddles of water? I wasn't able to track (computer woes), but at the start,I saw large puddles of water. Very surprised about the heat and humidity. We have been getting lots of rain, but cool here. Super inspiring that you toughed it out!
