My bone structure naturally gives me a thigh gap at a normal weight of 126 pounds at 5 foot 6. I quite like it. Equally, I don't think it's something worth striving for if you need to reduce your weight to an unhealthy BMI to attain it.

That's awesome - I imagine you're pretty good at it now :) What made you decide to start? Have you ever been seriously injured whilst doing it? Awh, that's so sweet... did you meet each other though climbing as well?
-
Hahaha I saw it recently... terrifying but also kinda inspiring. I highly recommend.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I'm gunna do some more research and decide if it's something I really want to do. It seems like something you have to really commit to. And if I do it I'm going to make sure I get proper instruction. How long have you been into climbing/mountaineering for? What's your favourite thing about it?

I find that visiting these forums daily helps me - I find it fun, and it helps to keep me in the right mindset.

I never usually eat breakfast. I find it makes me ravenous a few hours later, regardless of what I eat for it. Whereas if I don't eat breakfast, I don't get hungry until the afternoon.

As far as I'm concerned, dieting is anything that involves a calorific deficit. So yes, in my mind I'm on a 'diet' and it does have an end point, at which time I'll increase my calories to maintenance.
-
It depends. Sometimes I'll log it and it'll deter me from going even more overboard. But other times (usually on special social occasions) I'll just forget about it and start the next day fresh. I find it easier to just move on from it, rather than trying to compensate by cutting my intake even more, which tends to just…

Divorce is the only solution

This prompted me to look up the nutritional information at my local Odeon cinema and omg I didn't realise popcorn was so calorific! 800 calories for a medium sweet popcorn, 640 for medium salted popcorn. Thought it would be less than half of that. Luckily I very rarely eat cinema popcorn because it's so overpriced.

Unless you've eaten an excess of 6 * 3500 = 21,000 calories above maintenance over the past week, you haven't gained 6lbs of fat. It's water fluctuations.
-
Hey, I'm 20 years old. I've lost about 6lb so far with another 9lb to go. Anyone can add me if they want :)
-
Woah, that transformation is fantastic! Out of interest, what were the tips Steve gave you to get you into running? :)
-
Dried fruit. I actually think I have a borderline phobia of it :D
-
Force yourself to log anything before eating it. Most of the time I'll see just how calorific indulging will be, and so decide against it after all.

Hahahaha this is my favourite reply - brilliant :D

Thanks for the replies everyone! I agree with what people are saying about paying attention to how your body feels, and also the fact that I'm most likely poor at this because I'm such a noob haha. After reading replies, and looking at a few websites I'm confident it's just soreness, not pain. I went for a long two hour…

You can't lose 10 pounds of fat in 5 days. That'd require a total deficit of 10 x 3500 calories = 35,000 calories. Which equates to a daily deficit of 7,000 calories a day. Which is impossible :)

Thanks, I'll check it out now!

Started weighing daily in the past few weeks - I like having more data and being able to track averages, rather than feeling frustrated by the effects of water fluctuations when I only weighed weekly.
-
Managed to get silly putty out of my jogging bottoms. Not a small feat, I assure you.
-
Unfortunately uni had the opposite effect on me... made it even worse.

I'm not sure. She used to go and get them professionally done.

I heard that wearing acrylics damages your nails underneath? My mum used to wear them all the time, and whenever she got them off her real nails were always in a bad way...
-
Just remember you only need to get a couple of good days under your belt, then it' so much easier because you feel committed and like you're making progress and it becomes habit again. Just force yourself to start.
-
I prefer weighing daily and using the website trendweight to track my average for this reason. Weighing weekly, you're still subject to the same fluctuations, so I'd rather weigh daily and get more data. You need to not let the fluctuations bother you though, because they're going to always happen, no matter how…

With close friends and family, yeah. But anyone else and I'm pretty awkward about it haha.

For me, hunger comes in waves. I find that if you just wait for it to pass (usually like 20 mins max), maybe drink something and chew some gum in the meantime, you'll feel fine for the next couple of hours. Just remember that hunger isn't an emergency. :)

Is good at putting on eye makeup!

Haha, you're not the first, don't worry about it :D
