I have a Polar Loop and really like it. I also got the Polar H7 bluetooth chest strap that works with my Loop for a more accurate calorie burn read. I especially like that the band displays calories burned and steps taken and the time with a touch of a button.

I do the same as OP when I'm craving pasta. I always have mine with a big side salad and it's a filling meal.

And you look great!!! Congratulations. What an awesome way to start the new year!

My favorite DVD teacher by far is Rodney Yee. A ton of his DVDs are on Amazon. Good luck!

I have powerwalked with both my Endomondo and HRM at the same time. On an average 60 minute powerwalk, the Endomondo was about 50 calories higher than my HRM. I don't worry about it and only walk with my Endomondo since I don't eat all of my exercise calories back. And yes, an HRM is a better way to gauge how many calories…

I read somewhere to put cut pantyhose and put the foot part of over your running shoe for doing zumba on carpeting. I haven't tried it though.

I liked Ripped in 30 much more than 30 Day Shred. No More Trouble Zones is less cardio and more strength exercises. Banish Fat Boost Metabolism is all cardio. If I had to choose just one to do, it would be Ripped in 30. If I wanted a longer workout, it would be No More Trouble Zones. Good luck!

I started with Rodney Yee's Yoga for Beginners DVD. There is a section on that DVD that explains all of the basic poses and how to do them correctly too. Good luck!

Winners always has a good selection at low prices. I get most of my workout clothes from there.

Rodney Yee is by far my favorite DVD yoga teacher and I've wasted money on a lot of yoga DVDs that I don't like. He is a power yoga instructor but has a large series including yoga for relaxation and restoration. His beginner DVD is very good and it also has a section in which he demonstrates and explains all of the main…

Met in the pub at college when was 19 and he was 21. That was 29 years ago.

They might not have dropped you but are dropping MyFitnessPal. I wouldn't take it personally. Sounds like a good opportunity to make some new swimming-loving friends on here.

I eat it almost every day too and fit it into my day. No biggie. I don't eat a lot of meat so can use the extra protein.

I don't have exact measurements but this is very easy for beef stew and a family favorite at my house. Stewing Beef Carrots, celery, onions, potatoes 1 package onion soup mix 1 package gravy mix 1 small can beef broth salt and pepper to taste at the end. Just toss it all in, and cook for the workday on low until beef is…

Now that is the most beautiful story I've read on here. Put tears in my eyes too. Congrats on your great success and that man is a keeper!

Yep, I quit successfully when I was 45. It's been over 3 years now and the best thing I ever did for myself. I traded in a bad habit for a good habit of running on the treadmill. Good luck and no matter what - protect your quit!

Go online and read about quitting smoking and metabolism and be patient. It's takes awhile for your body to adjust to not being bombarded by nicotine all day long. I quit smoking over 3 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Don't give up. And please be patient with yourself and make your quit your…

I've been working full-time from home for about 10 years. I don't have a problem staying away from the kitchen. I have my breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack during my workday and input what I'm going to eat first thing in the morning. As for exercise, noon is my time to go downstairs and workout. When it's not winter, I…

I have six more sessions of week 4 left. I really loved every minute of it and I'm smaller and stronger. I highly recommend it!

With my HRM, I burn about 460 calories doing a medium intensity medium length Wii Zumba 2 class. Oh there is a website that figures out calories burned doing zumba. I don't know what it is offhand but you can easily google it.
-
Yep, 48 and working hard at it. Please feel free to add me!

Rodney Yee's Beginner Yoga DVD is really good. All of his DVDs are really good for an at-home practise.

Yoga!

I wore my HRM once when I did Just Dance 2 and burned 300 calories in 40 minutes. I don't doubt my HRM.

Wheat, dairy and sugar cause bloating too.

I am also lactose intolerant. I don't like cheese so don't miss it but you can try different goat cheeses since you are missing the enzyme to digest cows milk. Goat's cheese might not bother you at all (I can eat it all I want). I drink lactose free milk. If I do want to indulge in a creamy dessert, then it does help to…

Yep, Ottawa.

I love wii Zumba 2! I highly recommend it. EA Active is also a good well rounded workout.

That would be the Bryan Kest Power Yoga DVD which you can find on Amazon.com. You can also google his website where he has his 90 minute classes online that are very challenging!
