Ten years ago, I lost 70 lbs and was amidst a bad spot in my marriage. I needed to lose much more, I was no where close my goal weight. I was oblivious to the bad marriage part until I had lost the weight. The marriage issue wasn't about the weight loss, but some major communication issues, but it came to a head at my 70lb…

In the beginning, I set goals that were to far out or unreasonable. I think the hyped up ambition got me. But I learned quickly to make mini goals. If I need affirmation, I make even mini mini goals. Nothing wrong with long term goals, or mini milestones but when I'm not close to either . . . I remind myself I am merely…

LOVE tea. I agree with many that posted that I use a hot cup of tea as a means to avoid snacking. I love a black tea with orange picot (think I spelled that correctly). Particularly Community brand. But for the past six months I'm more into the celestrial and yogi teas. My absolute relaxing tea is yogi's Egyptian Licorice.…

Keep doing what you are doing. Don' t let the scale beat you. It will fluctuate and has much to do with intake, activity and if muscles are being challenged. Some people only take value in measurements as the scale can play games with you. I weigh daily and have fluctuated that much in a day. Scale can change by just…

No "magic diet". You are correct I ate less then what I burned. We all know that is how you lose weight. The benefit to me was food selection, which is laid out in his food plan. And truthfully the food plan is not much different then what can be found in 1000's of books. The "magic" so to speak, is that Dr. Oz's food plan…

Yes, saw this on CNN. Endorsing products that scam artists are utilizing his name. Senate hearing discussing unregulated products. Dr. Oz slapped on the hand by one female senator as using his platform poorly. This video speaks off the topic of this thread (Dr. Oz weight loss plan) which has no products endorsed at all.…

Explain, what part of this is unsafe, unsustainable and a fad diet??? If it doesn't work, please tell my body as I have lost 44lbs on it. So, I must be lying???

OR better yet . . . consider the information. Read on the topic. There are no products endorsed what so ever. No snake oil fixes, just healthy food selections. Stop muddying the topic up with something that is not related to the topic at hand, Dr. Oz 2 week plan. It works!!

Isn't it strange how the gradual but healthy weight loss can actually have us not realizing how far we've come. I hope you truly see how far you have come as it certainly shows in your pics!! You need to run across someone you haven't seen since the first of the year and watch their reaction, you'd know then, what your…

The MFP posters are generally very helpful. Unfortunately there are a few subjects that really draw the negative comments and that is Dr. Oz. I found that out early this year when I was seeking assistance. Like any board, you have to have tough skin as some people just want to post negative stuff and not truly answer your…

Good stuff. The collar bones are on my list of wants. Got a chuckle to read your post . . . I don't feel so strange now.

I tried in the past to post about this program and the naysayers came out of the woodwork. Noting that no one is commenting about the diet plan but their dislike for Dr Oz. I have done the 2 week rapid weight loss and it worked. I have to add, more importantly, I continued to use the diet plan as a basis for my food…

I applaud you for trying. We all have to approach our weight demons in different ways. Maybe instead of looking at the "big" picture of changing out the processed food for healthier choices all at once, you might consider just substituting one thing at a time. You used to fry chicken, now you bake it type of thing. You…

Itchy skin can be a number of things. Not enough water, fat or nutrients. Drinking more water helped me. The insomnia I can't help. I have same problem and have just learned to deal with it. I keep my nook on bedside to read when I wake in middle of night. So I'd love to read what others suggest.

Great NSV. Good read. Love the fact also, that your son knows Mom didn't leave the memory banks with Mom couldn't ride the rides. It' s more like Mom didn't take no for an answer. Good stuff.

No gym for me. BUT I do love taking a class. I do instructional dvd's (including utube) daily. But I enjoy taking an afternoon of yoga to get instruction. It helps with proper positioning I can't get with videos. Not to mention it's a treat for me. Good for the mind and helps me carry a mindfulness about caring for me all…

If you can't break the habit of snacking, subsitute the snack with something healthy. My whole weight loss regime is based off subsitution. If you have to snack, pick a healthy sub.

Read Mayo clinics (augus 2010) article, "Stop drinking Soda". It provides a list of problems that may or maynot concern a person if they drink soda. One could argue water is bad for a person, particularly city water. Personally I won't drink a soda.

I wish I could insert those little iconic videos people put on their posts sometimes. Mine would be a happy dance. Congrats. I particularly liked that you saw yourself in the mirror and not the past you. Happy Dance! happy dance! Happy Dance!

Goal pants!! I love the idea. Congrats on your lost inches.

I don't over analyse the food intake. It causes me frustration. So I watch what I'm putting in but I don't do a food journal. I read the success threads often. I do a lot of envisioning of my goal weight. I put the focus on others by responding to threads to help others, but at same time helping myself stay focused. And…

Interesting to find this thread. I'm not sleeping well from itching. The areas that itch? Inner thighs, under arms, under breasts, and crease where belly folds. Its as if skin is having a hard time cooling. You would think this would have been a problem when I was heavier. I never lost sleep from the itching before. Also…

I've always thought this is strange, but it works. Change things up. I've had a few small plateaus (2 weeks long on average). Change your exercise regime a bit to confuse the body. Do something different or work out longer. Make sure you are getting enough carbs to support the muscles. Change up your scheduling of food. If…

To make a lifestyle change you have to make it habit. Pick one thing and change it. For example, I drank a lot of sweet tea. I went from unsweet tea with Splenda, then I went from unsweet tea to water and lemon. I picked something (only one thing) and made a change. Other examples: instead of 1/2 hour of watching…

All of these are great. I HIGHLY recommend drinking plenty of water. But honestly all are good, so why not do them all. Don't overwhelm yourself. You don't have to do all of them at once, I didn't. Changing too much at once can be daunting. But water transports the nutrients in your body all over. Good for the brain,…

I love the two posts answering your question. Both helpful but so different.

Absolutely loved reading your story. You have a gift. And I am borrowing your mantra, "Will work for food". Look forward to the weight lifting body pics.

I would say your weight loss is dramatic. You've almost lost 50lbs. But I understand the question as I've heard the same questions starting with about 25lbs off. And I agree people often want to know "the secret" in how I've lost my weight and look disappointed when they find out it is just eating healthy and exercising.…
