i tend to work out fasted, i find i perform before. Even if i've eaten two hours prior i still get a sickening feeling whilst doing exercise if i have eaten something. But then again i'm a subscriber of intermittent fasting and don't eat til around 2 or so.

From reading your posts prior to this, it seems like you might be on the brinks of an eating disorder...as you've alluded to yourself just yesterday. Your self perception is quite disheartening, you have not gained weight, any visible weight weight that you have assessed vis a vi mirror is warped I want reiterate what i…

^^agreed, according to studies i've read there's no real difference over no-carb vs. traditional calorie restrcted diets in regards to weight loss. As i understand you may be able to lose more weight at first as a result of the lack of carbs( loss of water weight and such) however the results are the same over a period of…

^^ This. 1270 is certainly too low for you especially if you're just starting out...you're more prone to rebel lol. The site should definitely help you. Unless you do nothing but lie around in the house, you should set yourself at least on lightly active and moderate if you do some sort of exercise most of the week. But i…

simple answer, yes you can lose weight without exercising...but it'll be hard! Great tip is try intermittent fasting, definitly helps with curbing ur appetite and allows to meet your calorie goals. You should check out lean gains or even the intermittent fasting group that's on MFP.

Hi there! When I was starting out, my highest weight was around 143ish I believe at 5'2. I was able to through diet and exercise, that is 5 days of cardio and strength training, loose 13lbs after three months while in uni. There was serious dedication and due diligence that was involved. But at our height and the small…

oh snap... good advice!

I think you're totally right, it's impossible to get a real grip on how much one burns while running. So i think its best to underestimate the amount you burn while doing so... running is a low calorie burn unless you're either running long distances or at a ridiculously high pace. It's best to assume that your TDEE is in…

hang in there! switching it up can help and make sure you're accurately taking into account of what you're eating...as in measure measure measure haha. Eyeballing can really hurt ur efforts

I guess the reason lies in trying to nurture a healthier food consumption pattern for the OP that she can sustain for the rest of her life. Relying on high sugar and high fat initially is okay, but what happens once she starts maintaining? Its best to look for better and healthier options first before resorting to foods…

From the stats you provided, it seems to me like you're at an ideal weight for your height (5.5 119-123). Given this, it would certainly be difficult and rather slow to meet your goals of 110lb. My advise is to have a very small deficit and pick up a strength training program. I think at this point you could focus on body…

I was just going to mention it but yeah you should defintely check out new rules of lifting for women, it's a great plan all round from what i hear as well

No, your metabolism is still working haha. First, good on you in overcoming anorexia. Second, i think you'd get more replies if you provided the following for better answers: height, weight, age, exercise oh and goal weight

For both your sanity sake and health i recommend you take a "break" from dieting and reconnect with eating a more balanced diet. I think when one takes to such level of extremes as it appears you have, having led to your social anxiety of sorts you really need to develop a sense of the bigger picture. I.e. what is your end…

i think the jest of the 5lbs was water weight, as your muscles tend to hold on to water when exercising. The body can fluctuate greatly from day to day as a result of water retention. One way of controlling this...( although it maybe one variable among many) is to increase your water intake from here on end. Good luck!

you'll likely gain water weight with the added calorie intake, but you should definitely bite the bullet and just start eating your maintenance. Chuck out the scale for the month, until you're comfortable eating that amount. After you're weights stabilized or rather eating pattern, you can reassess your goals...the…

if it helps you can slowly try adding calories each week until you hit a comfortable range. Plus there's no harm in having a 200 or so deficit especially if you're planning on starting back up again in february. Ps. you can also try calorie cycling during the week if that also helps so that that you hit a particular…

So assuming you're target is say 20+ i'd say it'd be best if you shot for 1-2lbs pound loss a week (perferably 1lb) to ensure sustainability. If that's the case i plugged in your stats on, you're BMR is somewhere around 2150- 2460 being lightly active with no exercise. So if I were you I would stick to 2000kcals and…

there's no harm in eating salads everyday, however make sure you hit your calorie goal for the day i.e. 1200+ with or without the salads. They're often low in calories so they're really good as an appetizer before or with dinner or even as a snack. I opted to avoid salads as of late, they tend to make me hungrier even with…
