I have had shin splints before. If you are running or walking on a treadmill, make sure you use at least a .5 incline it will alleviate shin splint later.

You are doing awesome!!! Keep up the good work, I am just starting today...did a 1 hour aerobic session and just about died! Then a few hours later walked 2 miles in 30 minutes. We will see what tomorrow brings! I just need to stick with a healthy lifestyle instead of falling off the wagon again..and agian... and again! P.
