How many days have you not taken the metformin? Don't forget there is a build up of the medication in your system. It will take a few days before you get a more accurate reading of your fbs. What other medications are you taking? What are you after meal bs? A1C? Your fbs is not the only # you need to figure out if…

Ive been reading a book that suggests binge eating is linked to a "sugar addiction" what is it you are binging on? breads, pastas, potatoes, candy chips? cake ice cream? Starchy carbs all get transformed to sugars in the body, and most have refined sugars in them too....consequently if it is a "sugar addiction" the more…

I've tried soooo many "diet aids" over the years. pills, shakes, herbs, soups, counting carbs, no carbs, counting calories, water, rubber belts that "burn fat", laxatives, ive even hired someone to make my meals for me. You name it, I've done it. Im at the point in my life where I tell ppl, I had to diet to get this fat.…

I needed a good belly laugh, thank you everyone, lol.

Have you asked her to be your "diet buddy"? Perhaps asking her to help you keep to your weight loss. tell her its hard to keep yourself motivated, and you want her to come with you . You're not lieing. Perhaps "bending the truth" but not lieing. Some ppl when "pressured" cause you want them to "do better" will fight you…

ive never done Atkins, ive too much an addiction to carbs. but i agree with the rest...just choose your carbs wisely and cook from scratch whenever you can, its better for you, and actually a lot of fun!

Being obssessed with food, ive always thought ahead to what i would have next. Now, i plan ahead so i can "look forward" to what im going to enjoy. I even go so far as to figure out what it "costs me", here on MFP. Like last night. Hunny really wanted tacos. my first thought was great, im gonna be starving an hour later…

welcome back. im very sorry to hear of your loss. Life events like that can certainly "derail" us for a time. It is good to see you are trying to get back to looking after yourself, and becoming healthier. My heaviest was 396lbs. I had weight loss surgery, lost 50lbs, and then gained it back as my "life got in the way"…

I mainly use measuring cups and plastic containers. Using the measuring cups instead of a serving spoon, might not look classy but for every day portion control it works for me. We do a lot of freezing of meals and left overs. i found the glad and ziplock containers come in very easy to use sizes that automatically…

cant say ive given up anything, except the eating for 4 part. Mainly im controling how much i eat. as i feel better, and loose weight i just naturally go for the healthier foods. Somehow my taste buds want spinach instead of McD's. doesnt' mean i won't have "junk" once in a while. just means i will have it in moderation.

interesting concept....364lbs add a 0...3640cals a day. cool so i can go back to the way i ate before. Yay. thank you for posting :) Not meaning to be rude, but magazine articles are very edited versions of the truth. Im sure this works for those select few with the absolute right stats, but deffinately won't work for all…

>>>>is glad she lives in Cnada, at least we will keep the Wonder Bread.

ordering dressing or gravy or whatever, "on the side" and then pouring it over the food yourself. eating the "last little bit" in the pot cause there isn't enough to save for leftovers, and too much to throw out.

Are you still having difficulties? Perhaps manufacture's defect? im sure if you have the sales slip you could get it exchanged.

Do you move your scale lots? Like, is it under the bed for storage, and you have to bring it out? Some scales can loose thier calibration when moved lots. It could also be you just stepped on it too fast. perhaps it wasn't finished calibrating. How old is your scale? maybe it's just time to replace it. things are not made…

We always roast meats here for sandwiches. Beef, pork, chicken, turkey. (not hams) Easily freezable and portable. My hubby takes his and bread in seperate baggies to work, puts them together there. that way the thawing meat doesn't make his bread soggy. Much healthier for s, and actually not any more expensive than buying…

Sodium is used as a filler, preservative and taste enhancer. Also there are sooo many kinds of it. the best way to cut it out is to avoid processed food as much as possible. Make your own food from scratch, or reading lables more helps too. Example: i made my own spaghetti sauce using no salt added can tomatos(or even…

I have dealt with this all my life too. I think the point is, they say it in a way that makes you feel like you're invisible cause you're fat. Like poof,if the weight disappeared over night it would solve all your problems. they just don't take you seriously. My dr, just puts his head down, scribbles something on his pad,…

while im sad that you have lost someone you love, my hip, hip hooray is jumpin up and down inside me, for your awesome news of not binging. As a fellow emotional binger, i know what it's like to feel that loss of control over yourself and food. that you haven't truned to food during your time of stress is amazingly…

Surprisingly after 13 pages there are still some days not spoken for: June 1 being one.

"dont worry dear, you have a great personality"...

Im more than sure this happens to EVERYONE. especially those of us that have lost weight, only to gain it back. thats the kicker. Don't let it 'beat' you. One day in the middle, shouldn't be the end or begining. If you think about it, thats does make scense, lol. Just continue as you were before. Only thing you can do is…

You will not regret having a cat, im sure. the complaints of torn up furniture and spraying are things you can deal with. getting an adult cat...make sure it is already spayed or nutered. that will cut out the need to mark territory. Also getting an adult cat reduces the amount of clawing at furniture...ive found kittens…

Lets see, pancakes, french toast, eggs benny, pan scramblers, bacon...of course bacon, toast and grape jelly, or eggs with toast to dip in, oatmeal with raisins and brown sugar. cream of wheat...soem cold cereals-i like the crunchy ones, granola, yogurt...i love almost any kind of breakfast foods. Although i have to admit,…

I completely agree with this. I used to make stirfry quite often. Only thin i did different was to use olive oil for heart health. I mix it up a bit using chicken and pork or no meat occasionally. You could put some water in, for some of the oil...steam the veggies a bit more, just turn the temp down a little.…

Unfortunately, for me, the person in my life who does this is someone i can't get rid of. Well, im not willing to, it's my Dad. He is of the mind that you learn to do better if you are critisized...im more a catch more flies with honey than vinegar kinda girl. (not that i wanna catch flies lol) Anyways..to be honest, now i…

Have you lost a lot of weight recently? had something big happen in your life? Are your periods usually regular and consistant? Don't forget. TOM is completely ruled by hormones and surprisingly, body fat(not that i understand that part, but i did read it on a clinic site). Something gets our systems outta whack and this…

to some these things seem like...huh?? but to someone who has lost the "abilities" it means alot. My fist NSgoal was to be able to wear socks again, without cupping them so they don't cut into me. YAY!!! reached that one. One of my big ones it to be able to get on my knees again...and get back up again without help. that…
