to be honest im one of those that feels guilty and can end a "diet" cause i think ive failed to adhere to my goals...i know, way to high strung and/or sensitive. this time around, i picked a higher caloric goal. Most of the time i have a hard time reaching 1200, with what im doing and feeling. So by "allowing" myself 1500,…

I have to agree..don't cut them out completely, your body needs carbs. Just start picking "better" carbs, and eat in moderation. there are carbs in veggies, you can eat a whole lot of raw veggies for low cals and get loads of nutrients and energy outta them. eating fewer fruits, and less refined/processed carbs is an idea.…

Did you order the shakes through a distributor? If you did you should have the myvi.net website. If you go to MARKETING on the home page...click on SOCIAL APPS you'll find the ViSalus Shake Recipe App. hundreds of recipies on there. some fun, some...ummm, individual taste tested, and some really good ones. Otherwise,…

the line my hubby gives me, every week when i get weighed and measured "i knew you were loosing more cause i can get closer to you " followed by a kiss and hug. I swear his smile gets bigger too.

IMO- either is fine...just measure. If you are controling the amount the you have what you need. I wouldn't rule out carbs all together either, just moderate amounts. Some carbs are not as good for you. ie white bread, pasta. Due to how it is broken down in the body. Others, like raw veggies, fruit, whole grains, legumes…

Oh and i forgot...allrecipes.com. If you can't find it there, you are not gonna find it anywhere. I love that site.

I do a lot of these two options. Having ready-homemade-tv dinners makes those rush nights sooo much easier. It's a bit of work, but also fun when including family in the planning and or making. We love our slow cooker too. Easy and best, can't screw it up roast: take a beef roast, sear on all sides in olive oil and garlic.…

that is so awesome to see. Very inspirational to me, as im just beginning my new life and hope to one day reach the 199 mark. to see a real person has made it there, makes a huge difference. I can imagine the effort it took to get there, congratulations.

ive read comments from others that they were able to avoid the surgery by doing excersizes to target toning in certain areas. I hope they see this thread. I recall one saying mainly what she did to reduce the "apron" of tummy, was be constantly holding her tummy in...tightening those muscles as much and often as possible.…

Wish i could find somethinglike that here in Canada. the losest ive found is Weight Watchers bread which is about half the calories per slice...mainly cause a slice is half the thickness of regular bread. Impossible to use, i find. Anytime i try to spread something on it, it tears. Fine enough if your just slapping bread…

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for posting this. As someone who has just begun this round of trying to get healthy, this is truely inspirational. The fact that you have been able to maintain the majority of your weightloss allows me to see it is possible. Often times we get to a goal and then oops,it all comes back and then some.…

I ordered my BBV Oct 19...picked it up on the 25th (oct). According to the scale ive lost 20lbs todate. Hubby's smile gets bigger as my tummy gets smaller, lol. Ive got a long ways to go, but BBV is going to be there with me all the way. I love my shakes. and i feel amazing taking it. I used to eat enought for 3-4 ppl at…

First off...drink some water. Our bodies send out the same signals for thirst as it does for hunger. If you are still hungry after a few minutes, then deffinately eat something. doesn't ahve to be a lot, and doesn't have to be high calories either. raw veggies are a safe, smart bet that won't add too many cals if that is…

I never call it a diet. to ma that is another 4 letter word that does me no good, lol. When i do say it, it is often in the sentence "all dieting ever got me is the weight i am now" I topped out at 396lbs. Change is scary..to most of us. Any kind of change can turn our worlds upside down. think of it this way: youve got 7…

As amazing as it sounds, i have found that eating healthy is actually cheaper. When filling up on convenience foods we are getting "empty" calories, and get hungry again faster. I found when i was eating mostly veggies, fruits, meat...and carbs in moderation my grocery bill was cheaper. I fyou can get yourself to change…

My b/f used to take deli meat sandwichesto work all the time, which contributed to his gaining weight. we switched to making our own roast beef, pork and chicken at home. easy enough to do. pre package and freeze it. now he has "fresh" real meat sandwiches and it has helped his BP and cholesterol #s. If you do nothing else,…

I always worry abotu the turkey meat being too dry. I used to add water to the pan, but now i add low salt broth. Never have to smother the meat in gravy at our house, lol.

A lot of restaurants have menus online ...plan ahead, make cheat notes. great idea
-
Not so much. Have to admit, except for going to Ethnic restaurants, i find most menus to be pretty similar. Im in Canada so maybe our restaurants are different, IDK. One thing to remember...just cause its supper, doesn't mean you cant eat off the lunch menu. I often look there for inspiration. Soup and an wrap, sandwich…

If necessary...i will go for a tummy tuck. Im hoping to loose at least another 164 lbs. my tummy may or maynot go "back to normal" . I think after working so hard to get the weight loss, it will be worth it to look smoother in the tummy area.

it is really nice to hear that it is possible to tighten up the "front butt" when loosing large amounts of weight. Over the years ppl ive talked with (some proffessionals) have always lead me to believe that if youve had it for a long period of time, the chances are not that great the skin will still have it's elasticity.…

Yup this is it, nuthin fancy. Same time, same day, same clothing, same one eye open. If you spend the day before, excersizing more, eating less or whatever that for sure isn't gonna give you an accurate reading. Only other thing i would suggest, make sure your scale sits in one place. moving it in and out of the closet, or…

LOL some are even more expensive Dave. I take the BBV program shakes and love them. I used to have horrid problems with bloating, gas, feeling nauseated all the time. I think it was my body telling me tis time to do something besides eat. I was over eating and likely of mostly the wrong things. Ive been on BBV since the…

I take Visalis, have it on autoshipment, and i love it. I have looked at switching to something else that might be a little cheaper, but i would be without the metabolism booster and the hunger control powder, which i am convinced do work well for me (believing in something is very important. i have printed off the…

I think i will stick with what my DR, Dietary Nurse and Diabetes Nurse have told me. Anything less than 1200 cals a day and your body is not getting the nutrients you need. Regardless of loosing weight...it should be about being healthy.

oh wow...seriously? ppl who say this really need to give their head a shake.
-
It was recommended to me, every two weeks. Mainly because being female, the #s can fluxuate more. more water retentions some days, hormones in flux, whatever, i can't recall every thing the dr told me. But i find weighing and measureing only every two weeks also keeps me form getting down on myself. I used to weigh…

AHHHHH ok that made sense...needs some sort of "glue" thank you, i was puzzled, lol.

the forgiveness comes in when you feel guilty cause youve "slipped" or whatever you want to call it. I know there is added pressure we put on ourselves to behave over the holidays...hence this thread. My point is simply be good to yourself, don't set yourself up to think "i screwed up, therefore im a failure" as some ppl…

pardon me, for being umm...well, dumb, for lack of a better word. I always thought the wrappers were just rice flour and water. what else is in them besides preservatives and other 15 letter words that you need a univerity degree to pronounce?
