Kim, you are dead right to enjoy the comments. I have been working on 'operation build a bum' for a couple of years now and have gotten to the point where my bum now resembles a normal one instead of a pancake but I am still a long way off getting compliments from people who haven't in the past slagged me (in a friendly…

So my plan to get back to the gym today after my flu was over optimistic. I went back to work and by lunch time I just wanted to crawl into a hole and sleep for a million hours. So I decided to give myself more time to recover. Julie, I am also finding that the types of food I eat have an impact on my weight. I might have…

I was thinking along the same lines Jo. I have put back on about 10lbs of what I lost but I am not any bigger because of it. My scales has shown no change in body fat % since I started tracking it about 18 months ago but I know that I have lost fat and gained muscle. Although I still have a long way to go. Since posted…

I initially started lifting for a few reasons, one of which was aesthetics. The others were health related, my body fat percentage was really high and I was freaked out about the health implications of that. Also, I am on long term steroids which increase my risk of osteoporosis so I wanted to protect my bone density.…

haha, that made me laugh. Probably because I experience it too, I randomly find myself admiring really off parts of my body, I just wish my belly and upper arms could get there! I had a busy weekend but no lifting. Just spending time with my family and I got a good run in. Everyone is doing great lifting. Its so inspiring…

Thanks guys. I was delighted with myself yesterday and really needed to tell someone. And weirdly I wasn't sore today, I thought I would be in bits. Dawn, I do my front squats like that as well, I just cannot get my arms into the other position to do them properly. And also, congratulations on the progress, your pictures…

I haven't checked in here in ages but I had to pop in to celebrate because no body else would understand - today I deadlifted 85kg!!! (that's 187 lbs). That is 10kg more that my previous best so I was thrilled! I found myself rechecking the weights repeatedly to make sure I had added it up correctly. I will come back later…

Julie, the advice he gave me was to hold the bar with my hands closer to my head and keep my elbows tucked in and parallel to my body. This helps me to create the bridge on my back to hold the bar and I can hold the bar lower that way. It's still not perfect and my back hurt again leaving the gym today but I am going to…

You broke both your thumbs Kimi? Ouch! That must have hurt! Jo, enjoy your week off and I hope you recover from all of your injuries quickly. I was squatting in the gym last week and once again feeling it in my lower back and trying to work out what I was doing wrong when a trainer spotted me and spent ages giving me tips…

Yeah I record my workouts but when I did NROLFW I recorded them on the workout sheets and I have no idea where they are. When I started supercharged I bought a notebook so that I could have all of my workouts together so it is much easier to see. I never dated the workouts though and I am regretting that now. I managed to…

I must check out if I have recorded anywhere what I was lifting this time last year because I don't feel like I've made much progress. I haven't exactly been consistent though so that's hardly surprising. I'm back at it now though. One more without in strength and power I. Also, today I joined a running club so that should…

Hey guys. I have been really struggling to stay motivated lately. I started a new job a month ago and since then I have been staying with a friend while house hunting. I also went away on holidays last week so only got around to joining a new gym yesterday. Lifting after taking a month off is not a good idea! Today I can…

I'm with you Sara, I also got bitten! Holidaying in Italy and Switzerland meant lots of excessive eating and no lifting and also logging onto MFP was the last thing on my mind. Sorry guys!
-
Another week done! Damn that workout was way harder than I thought it would be! My legs were shaking walking down the stairs afterwards! All my goals met. Next week will be hard because we are going to Italy on our holidays but I will do my best. I'll definitely be walking a lot but I also plan on consuming plenty of pizza…

Yay! Thanks Cindy!

Really? That would be awesome if I was still in. My internet was mostly non existent all weekend because I was visiting my brother who lives in the middle of nowhere so I couldn't check in or log my food. But I know I was under for the week because I had loads of wiggle room from earlier in the week. But if not checking in…

I had pretty much given up on the challenge this week because I am staying with a friend and have no time or space to do workout videos and we have been going walking on the beach every evening so I haven't been to the gym. But today I felt sad at the thought of being kicked out of our awesome team so I did the lunge video…

Dawn, congrats on the run. That's an excellent time! I'm falling behind on my lifting this week. My back is bothering me must of the time now, it's not really sore, just achy but I am using it as an excuse to avoid the gym. That and the fact that I'm tired from starting a new job and also the weather today was too nice to…

First responders check in. I met all my goals, and did the work out videos.luckily I managed to get the house to myself yesterday so I could zumba without anyone seeing me!
-
There were alternatives to the zumba?? How did I miss that? I came home from the gym yesterday and found the house empty so did the zumba 2 more times when nobody could see me! I am having back issues recently so I am hoping that next weeks challenge will involve some lower back exercises...hint hint Cindy.... Ok…

I have had a crazy week with house hunting and I had to go to a training course for my new job but because I haven't found a house yet I had to travel 4 hours each way to get to the course. So it has been difficult to get my exercise in. I haven't failed yet though and I think I can get everything done between today and…

Wohoo, well done everyone. This weeks challenge looks like it will be fun.

Hi everyone, just a quick check in. I have been crazy busy lately. Our lease ended in our house on Saturday so we had to move out but we haven't found a new house yet so we had to move everything into my parents house and at some point during the week (hopefully, presuming I find somewhere to live) we have to move…
-
Yay! And now I will remember that it is Saturday's we check in so I won't make the same mistake again!
-
So I totally thought that it was today that we had to check in and just realised that I missed it! But anyway, I met all my goals. Walked a mile in 17 mins Pushups: 8 Squats: 41 (at that point I got bored, I don't know how people have the will power to keep going!) Plank: 48 seconds (I can do much longer but the ground was…

Thanks for the link beeps. I will check that out.

That's interesting Jo. I always thinking about pushing my bum out when doing squats so maybe I am doing them all wrong. i will try that and see if it helps. I am always concerned with deadlifts that I will hurt my back so I am quite wary about upping my weights. I am currently lifting 75kg (about 165lbs) and I know I can…
-
Yeah I was thinking of redoing it on Friday too. My plank today was pathetic because I was on a slippy surface and my arms kept sliding away from me!
-
Thanks Cindy. I don't mind walking it. I will get that done today. Sara, I will get the team challenge done but I might struggle to meet my own goals. Moving house is such a pain so I will struggle to find time to get to the gym. But I will do my best! How is everyone else getting on?
