Hmmm... then, pray tell, why is there a "Motivation and Support" message board (upon which you post)?

Sounds to me like you should set your activity level to "Sedentary" and log any exercise seperately.

As I was losing weight, I recall seeing pop-up messages that said something to the effect of "You've lost some weight, we should re-calculate". It might have happened once or twice, but I'm a "tinkerer" so my settings never stayed the same for very long.

I must be *nasty*. I go for a 40-50 minute walk during my lunch hour, but just stay sweaty the rest of the afternoon. I will say, though, that I have my own office, don't come in contact with customers, and don't generally do meetings and other public gatherings. So, the only person I have to offend is me -- and I'm not…

By he way, the NIH report I referred to is here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14715035 Title: How many steps/day are enough? Preliminary pedometer indices for public health "Based on currently available evidence, we propose the following preliminary indices be used to classify pedometer-determined physical activity…

Q1: If my goal is to maintain and I set my maintenance for MFP It gives me 1550 if I'm "sedentary". What does that entail? A1: I don't know if you use the web version or an app on your mobile device, but on the web site under the APPS tab is a BMR calculator. Probably, if you get your BMR and multiple it by 1.2 or 1.25,…

Have you read the FAQ? http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/1084232-what-is-the-calorie-adjustment-in-my-exercise-diary I used a Withings Pulse until it took a swim in the washing machine. Now I use the Accupedo app on my phone (one less device to carry). While considering this I ran across a NIH study…

I must live under a rock. I know some men wax and what-not, but didn't know it was called manscaping. My opinion is that unless you are a world-class swimmer who can trim 0.2 seconds off your 100 meter time by waxing, you should just leave things alone. A man with no hair is called a boy.

I just read this a couple days ago. The explanation of how sugar gets stored as fat starts in the paragraph beginning, "So why should we care about the sugar to fiber ratio?" http://www.thinkingaboutnutrition.com/2011/11/the-sugar-to-fiber-dietary-ratio/

This. Sorry but last night my wife wife made me beef sausage, macaroni & cheese, and cucumber/tomato salad. It was very nice. Kale, tofu, and bean spouts are *not* nice.

Looking at some others, I don't feel *so* bad. I felt terrible this morning, after eating all weekend. I ate 3457 on the 4th, and averaged even higher over the whole weekend -- 3900 calories per day. ==== 2014-07-04 – 2014-07-07 Last Lb/wk kCal Min. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but you did ask for my opinion. Here it is: I don't weigh my food, I don't drink smoothies, and I would not even know what to do with an "olive oil mister". I can't imagine why you would want to market these products to men.

Sound like about 12. OP -- What kind of help do you expect? Shall we tell your sister to leave you alone and quit comparing what she eats to what you eat? My advise is to put on your big girl panties and get on with your life.

I once said my life was diminished because I could no longer say that I have never seen it, but on the upside, I can recognize this as a quote from the movie.

Someone should mention this to the Sunrider Corporate indoctrinators (or whatever they are called).

You don't say how much you have gained or lost, but your profile indicates you've lost about 10 pounds since you started. Your diary, in the last year, started in August (8-1/2 months ago) and you've logged calories in 160 of those days (about 5 months). So, consistency seems to be a problem, but we'll put that aside for…

Glad to hear it encouraged someone. Good luck on your journey.

I have a Polar H7 which I use with iCardio (android) app -- but I simply cannot recommend it. I have had two, and both "eat" batteries. The manual says 160 hours of use but I have never gotten more than 5-10 hours of actual use out of a battery. Also, and more importantly, the HRM is simply not reliable at measuring my…

No, but if you have a Withings scale (and pay to remove ads in Libra) it will automatically import the weight measurements from your Withings account to Libra -- very handy!

I use Libra to track my weight, but If you don't have a smartphone you can use "Hacker's Diet Online", from which Libra is derived. https://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/HackDiet EDIT for additions. Now that I think about it, Libra is being supported by the author, but it is no longer in active development. He has moved on to…

I have a "pack-rat" gene I inherited from my parents. I had been procrastinating, but while she was home today, my wife cleared all the "L" and "XL" shirts out of my closet. Nothing but "M". Edit: Oh yeah, and I ran today -- for 6 minutes.
