Packaged shredded cabbage (cole slaw), kale snipped with scissors, 1tblsp of Craisins, 1 tblsp roasted pumkin seeds, 1-2 Tblsp Litehouse poppyseed dressing. Delicious and takes quite awhile to eat. Another favourite is watermelon salad with fresh mint, feta cheese and a balsamic and oil dressing. It's really good on a bed…

The feeling of being fat or heavy comes from your body being weak and tired. Your muscles and bones are lacking vital nutrients. As long as you're not getting adequate nutrition you will ALWAYS feel fat, tired, out of control and think irrationally. Fitness Pal is no place for you my friend. The compulsion to restrict and…

I found the same reaction from people around me. Like they can't enjoy the goodies as much because I'm not partaking as whole heartedly as I used to. I feel I have to reassure them that when I reach my goal weight I'll lighten up a little. These same people seem to be able to have a few goodies and stop and stop and not…

I drink a lot of tea with skim milk and when I counted up the calories in the milk I was using I was pretty shocked. Every mug had 1/2 cup of milk which I mix up thicker than the instructions say. I have decided to cut out the pot of black tea I used to drink at lunch time and replace it with herbal or green tea. That is…

I think you are over-estimating how many calories you are burning during exercise, having looked at your log. Plus you are eating way too much.

You can buy shirataki noodles from the Asian food section at Walmart. They are very low in calories, made from yam flour. They are very good in soup. Also you could investigate Miso which is soy-based and makes a very good broth. Lots of recipes for Miso soup on the internet.

I'm on a 1200 calorie diet and it is more than adequate because I eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, tofu, low fat cheese, eggs, etc which are not high in calories and are nutrient rich. I don't feel hungry and I haven't felt cold like I always used to when I dieted and went much lower in calories (I didn't know any better…

I buy a pouch of ranch dressing mix (Club House or other brand) and instead of 1 cup milk and 1 cup mayonnaise I just add 2 cups of milk and 1 spoonful of mayonnaise. It's kind of runny but delicious on a chicken, avocado, lettuce salad and negligible calories. The original recipe I saw on Pinterest called for 1 cup 0% fat…

Looking at your diary I noticed you are eating a lot of foods that have a lot of sodium. I find these kinds of foods make me crave more food. Also you don't seem to be tracking your sodium (salt) intake. You could also be mistaking your hunger for thirst.
-
Part of the problem might be stomach hyperacidity which feels like hunger. You could try an over the counter antacid at bedtime. I've had to do that many times. See if that helps.

I recently discovered that chunks of slightly over-ripe bananas that have been frozen are really good. They seem to get creamy and not too hard.
-
A brief look at your food diary showed your food choices may be high in sodium and that may be causing you to retain a lot of fluid. And with take out food it's hard to know exactly how many calories you are taking in. The best advise I've gotten here is to be patient and persistent and you will be successful.

So funny you asking this because I am post-menopausal and over the last 3 months I've noticed that once a month that my weight suddenly goes up and I lose control of my eating a bit (I crave sugar and salty foods more). After a few days I go back to normal. I have tried to research this on the internet but have found…

Sounds like it's already working well for you. Why not just keep doing what you're doing since it is working. Seems like 150 for protein is a little high but I'm no expert. I've been interested in trying this so am very happy to hear it is working for you. From what I've read in other posts there isn't a whole lot of…

I made one very similar and it is also ridiculously good. The recipe I have is about 600 cals per 1/12 of the recipe so that was a bit of a downer though. Another excellent raw dessert is raw brownies and it is much lower in calories per serving. I think the website was Nourishwithin.com.

Nourishwithin.com has some great raw food desserts. I just made the raw brownie recipe for an office picnic. It is awesome and super nutritious made with dates, cacao powder and pulverized walnuts and mesquite powder. 1/12 of the recipe, like one square, is 264 calories but they are all nutritious, guilt -free calories.

I immediately made it but didn't have any heavy cream or coconut milk so used plain greek yoghurt instead and topped it with light Cool Whip. It was amazing. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe. I wonder if you could put a cupcake paper cup in the bottom of the mug to bake it. I may try that next time....which will be…

I just discovered you can make a delicious vegan filling by mashing up firm tofu, a tablespoon of garlic veganaise, chopped green onion and salt and pepper. Rolled up in lettuce leaves. It was really delicious and I'm not even vegan, just trying out new and different foods.

Paula Deen, in an article about her weight loss said that she would suck on a lollipop for 10 min and that worked for her. I went out and bought a big container of Chupa Chup lollipops. I would just have a whole one. 50 calories. Seems to work for me. If these cravings are happening at work like they do for me it's likely…

Well that was certainly a year well spent! You look fabulous. I love to see a guy in a suit.

Why don't you just log it all so you get a really accurate picture of the "damages". That might help you look at it more objectively and take some of the awful emotions that you are feeling away. I've had a few binges and it set me back about a week but I'm back on the wagon now with more resolve. I don't think you need to…

I have been using Garcinia Cambogia and really find it helps suppress my appetite. I bought the Fit brand from Walmart. I didn't expect it to work but it has. The days I forget to take any I feel much hungrier and find it hard to stay within my calorie limits. The days I do take it once or twice, usually first thing in the…

I have had many days like you and have given in to my cravings but not to the extent that I used to. You don't want to feel deprived. Show yourself you can go off track somedays but get back on track the next day. That too is a valuable learning tool. Even logging your "cheat" foods is good because it likely won't add up…

I'm a huge coffee and tea drinker too and use skim milk which I mix myself and make it stronger than the directions so it is quite sweet and thick. I never thought I would get used to it but I prefer it now. However I was shocked to see how the calories added up. A large mug of tea or coffee can easily take 1/2 cup of milk…

Thank you for that question and especially for the answer. I had been wondering about that for sometime now and it was a quick fix.

Thank you so much for telling me you can just log in one thing to keep your streak going. That's the best news I've heard all day! I loved your post. You are a true success and weight has nothing to do with it. Your normal, up-beat attitude will up lift a lot of people reading your post so thank you for taking the…

OK here's a great idea. Have you heard of Zumba? It is a really fun way to exercise. Super music and dance-like exercise moves. You ought to sign up for a class. Mostly women attend but many men love it and are always very welcome. It will give you the best start to your exercise program and you will enjoy it. When wifey…

You've already taken the first step by thinking about making a positive change. Insight is important. Why don't you and your girl friend take up dancing together, like ball room dancing or some other kind. Or go out dancing. It would be fun and good exercise without seeming like work. You might be able to ease her into it…

Stevia in tablet form is totally natural and very good. Splenda is great too. I use both regularly.

There was a story on the internet recently about a guy who ate a Quest bar every 3 hours while he was awake and lost 78 pounds on that diet. I wouldn't recommend that but when I heard that I immediately went out and bought a bunch. They are very rich and satisfying.
