Love this post and can certainly relate to the plateau part! I'm at the "I look okay" stage, but still have a ways to go to be where I ultimately want to be. And thank you for the reminder that there is no "normal eating" for me -- ti's too true, but I've tried to ignore that to my peril in the past!

That is AWESOME!! You're giving me hope for our 12 day cruise over Chinese New Year!

The only thing I use that for is to gauge how I'm doing. If it's less than I am today, then I'm on track. If it's more (and I'm not perfect, so it happens), then I have to pull my **** together and get back on track. I think there's too many variables for this to be completely accurate, but it's an indicator.

I'm in the same boat right now, with my 75 lb loss. I like to think that it's just because the fat is really entrenched (been there for over 14 years) and won't let go without a struggle, but I know it's also that I'm not always on point with my calories (I'm trying to live lifestyle change, not "diet" and so life…

Good for you, you look great! It's hard to keep motivated, I did a similar thing when I got halfway. It may be time to remind myself again. Congratulations on how much you've accomplished!
-
Whoo-hooooooo!!! Congratulations! It's a great feeling, isn't it?

Sugar is really hard to wean yourself off of. Trust me, I have a total sweet tooth as well. I've managed to cut down on my sugar intake, but I've not told myself I can't have it, only that I don't need it right now. Looking at your diary, you're probably eating too little -- there's a reason MyFitnessPal sets 1200 as your…

Oooh, looks good! Can you post the link so we can get the nutritional info? Oops, nevermind, I see it above in the tread!
-
Feel free to add me too if you like! My diary isn't open, but that's because I have food insecurity issues and am reeeallly sensitive to comments on my food. But if you just want to look, I can PM you the code to see it. I eat well, but living in Singapore, I often have unusual foods (to North Americans) in my diary. I'm…

Hey y'all! I forgot to tell you that in addition to being a Vancouverite, I'm living in Singapore right now after 12 years in Houston TX. If you're looking for more Canadian friends, I'm in this for the long haul, making a lifestyle change that I can keep up after years of unhealthy eating habits. Now, after a year at…

I'm from Vancouver, but living in Singapore right now!

^^^THIS!!^^^^ I'd totally take the inches! I'm at a plateau too, but with neither the weight loss nor the inches (except a bit). Arrgh!
-
^^^ THIS!!!! Yes, make the changes that you can sustain and you will!
-
Wow, you look so happy and so fantastic! Way to go!
-
You can still find them in Vancouver -- though not on every block like out east. Try moving to Singapore! No Timmy's except once a year when we go home! :-(

It is much harder now that the "big 4-0" has passed. I'm 48 and still working on this, but have gotten pretty far in the last 9 months. Feel free to add me!

Aw, crap! Now I definitely won't buy it! Thanks for the head's up on this one -- we had terrible, horrible, chocking smog from burning in Indonesia here back in June from the burning of forests to plant palm oil palms.
-
^^^ Yes, this! ^^^ I do love it but do not have the willpower. Maybe if I buy the single servings...
-
^^^ THIS!! Last summer (2012) when I went home to the US from Singapore -- where all the women are tiny and have no curves so I can't shop there, I went to Lane Bryant and bought anything (22-24) that fit, regardless of how it looked because that was going to have to last me for a whole year. I wouldn't be allowed to ride…

I love my fitbit! I have a HRM that I use when I go to the gym to get an accurate measurement of my actual workout and I wear my fitbit too. I then enter my HRM burn into MyFitnessPal which asks the time I started my exercise. Then the fitbit that is connected too, adjusts for the HRM burn, but still gives me an accurate…

GREAT work!! You look fantabulous! Sometimes I need to be reminded that I'm in this for the long haul and that it takes time. I didn't put the weight on in 6 months after all! Thanks for this, I needed to see it.

I prefer to weigh once a week and I know that the week before/of my period I'm usually down a little and then rebound the following week. I call it my phantom loss. I know it's coming and just account for it. As long as the general trend is down, I don't think it matters.
-
Glad to have you here (even though I'm a catperson with three of them!) ;-) Many of us here are in the same boat, and working it all out slowly. Welcome!
-
^^^ This. It's exactly what I do. I do sometimes "peek" mid week if I'm concerned, but generally try to keep it to once a week.
-
You totally ROCK!! Good for you for taking control, working hard to lose the weight and face your fears and for having a blast doing it! I'm so proud of you for you!! It's such a great feeling to accomplish these goals and I'm so glad for you that you have a photo of your joy in doing so. Way to go!!

Oh, that sounds fabulous and a perfect idea for when my hubby is out of town!

I LOVE this chili recipe -- I've made it several times and my hubby is a fan too. http://www.ambitiouskitchen.com/2012/10/black-bean-sweet-potato-and-quinoa-chili-with-smoked-chipotle/ Also, I like to toss it into a greek salad for some variation! Looking forward to trying some of the other suggestions. Also, red quinoa is…

Good for you! Keep up the good work, you're looking great!
