What habits need changing exactly? Is there a certain ingredient that is a trigger for you? Mexican food tends to be pretty healthy. If it's actually the cheese and sour cream-loaded Tex-Mex that's your weakness....well...I'd more recommend eating portions that fit into your daily goals.

Is there a reason you're not wanting carbs? A vegan diet is typically high in carbs. Do you have a medical reason you're avoiding them or have you just been "told" that they're some sort of bad food? I'm vegan, eat around 1500 calories a day, and have no problem getting 100-120g protein in a day, albeit with a lot of…

currently drinking a 460 calorie smoothie for breakfast. Yeah, I definitely count it. Zero calorie Diet Coke? No. I don't see a reason to. If it has calories - yes. I think if you're trying to count calories, the answer lies right in front of you...

You gave an opinion that if women don't chat you up, we are "unfriendly". So me not consenting to a conversation because I'm not there to converse makes me unfriendly?

Weight is lost in a calorie deficit. It's definitely not a magic shot. I'm more lethargic when I'm due for one because my body just doesn't absorb it well, and I do feel more energetic when I receive them, but my weight loss comes from monitoring my calories.

Effective for what? There's a lot of reasons people get them. I get them because mine is chronically low - always has been my whole life.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one :)

I have fibro, lupus (SLE) and Behcets, among other things. I also still have about 35 to lose until I'm at goal! This app is great if you are honest with your tracking. I lost 45 pounds last year weighing all my food and logging here daily - even on meds that typically hinder weight loss!

I'm a big fan of Masoor Dal. Here's a pretty easy recipe - don't be scared by the number of ingredients as most are just spices! http://www.vegrecipesofindia.com/masoor-dal-easy-masoor-dal/

Sorry for reviving an old post, but I've been researching this and am curious to hear about some results. It'd be even better if anyone has done their vegan plan, but I'll take some feedback on any of their meal plans. Looking at it with my RD-eyes, it looks like there is a lot of science behind it, and the sample meal…

Is your 3-year old buying the sweets? If not, what do they have to do with it? You can adjust your meals to fit in a sweet food if you need it, or work up to avoiding them.

I don't have Addisons, but I have SLE, Behcets Disease and Fibro. I've been on long term Prednisone for almost 9 years now. It's awful...and it makes it REALLY HARD to lose...but not impossible. Just don't compare your journey to someone else's is what I've had to learn. It's always going to be much harder for us. But we…

Just eat your vegetables. They fill you up with a small amount of calories. Just do it. You can buy them frozen in steampacks that you just toss in the microwave - already seasoned and everything. They've made it really easy to incorporate veggies into a diet. Just eat them. Your post said you don't really eat them, but it…

Interesting info! I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure....interested to see where my favorites fall...

I hate regular Coke, and Coke Zero tastes way too much like it. You can pry my Diet Coke from my cold, dead, aspartame-filled hands!

I have a friend who ended up on the cover of People magazine a few years ago – their annual “I Lost Half My Weight!” edition where they showcase people who have lost massive amounts of weight. She does fitness competitions now and is a certified personal trainer, but she started taking personal training clients before…

Deadlifts in a Smith Machine will seriously eff up your back. It's much better to use the fixed weight barbells until you are ready for a higher weight.

I just put the dry pasta on my food scale. Although, this isn’t quite as simple if you’re cooking for more than yourself. I got these awesome little portion baskets on Amazon (I’ve seen them at other stores, too) that help me if I’m cooking for more than me. I can put my portion in a little basket, hook it to the side of…

Unless you are a human scale, your estimations are probably not accurate in the slightest. As to how precise should you log? Well, that depends on your goals...are you trying to lose weight? If so, you should be as precise as possible with everything you can, in order to give yourself some wiggle room in estimating…

1397 out of my 1510 daily goal. We didn't have family or anything to visit with, and I got pretty consumed in the tamale process that I didn't really eat anything until dinner (morning SBux run aside)...I go through big phases where I'm pretty repulsed by sweets (I know....weird, right?) and I'm definitely having one of…

Well....I'm pretty awesome already so....I don't see anything I need to resolve :)

If you're preparing meals from packages, be sure to accurately measure everything in them with a food scale, as the nutrition labels can very often be quite off. When I know I'm going to be doing something where calories will have to be estimated, I make sure that I am extremely accurate with my tracking the rest of the…

It's all in one session. No insurance needed. It's through our new Sports Rehab Center, so anyone who works for the hospital gets this. Already asked about any stipulations. Thanks all! I hadn't really thought about it in this way....I think I'm going to sign up sooner rather than later!

They're delicious, but not vegan. They are loaded with cheese and egg I believe. But if you eat those, then yes, they are very good. (I was told these were vegan by someone who gave me one...I'm severely allergic to both cow dairy and eggs and had a nice fun hospital visit...but it was definitely tasty! I don't skimp on…

He should speak with a specialist who can put him in touch with an orthopedist or physical therapist trained in working with spinal arthritis.

Nope. I refuse to give up my Diet Coke. I've lost 46 pounds this year by monitoring my calorie intake (in which Diet Coke has no effect on) and exercise.

32, 5'6" and 180. Would also like to rid these last 30 pounds!
