  • That threw me of inthe beginning. Here is what I learned- 1200 may be too low. calculate your BMR, and eat that as a minimum. Some sites quote the TDEE as the BMR which is wrong. You will find the BMR calculator under apps.
  • If your hand held is powerful enough, you can. Most are not powerful enough. Try it out before you start then you will know. You want it liquified, no chunks. BTW-Using a blender creates a smoothie, not a juice. Juice is different, for that you do need a juicer. Smoothie- full fruit/veggie blended up. It has fiber. It will…
  • I find myself at the same place, with the same questions- so I did some research.. I eat right at 1200 a day, and based upon my calorie deficit and workout deficit I should be losing 3.5 lbs a week, but I'm not. I was the first few weeks, but now it's 1 lb a week. I really do think there is something to eating at least…
  • With a 100% adherence definition- NO ONE is vegan or should use that name. Questions to ask yourselves- if making one mistake in a 9 month window makes a person not meet the 100% mark, then clearly the past counts. How far back in the past? And who decides that? When you were a baby, or a young child did your parents give…
  • I'm 5'6' and my goal is 145-150. I'm in my forties, and I will be delighted when I am 150. If I were still in my 20's or 30's, my goal would be closer to 135. And of course- It will all depend on how much muscle mass I put on working out.
  • The same thing has happened to me. When I became a vegetarian it didn't happen overnight, I went 7 years without beef or pork (because I didn't like it) , then I cut out chicken/fish etc, and have been a vegetarian for 9 years. The older I get, the more dairy bugs me. It never bothered me before. But now if I have any food…
  • Hi! My name is Patricia. I have been a vegetarian for 9 years. But I was eating too much crap- processed foods, carb heavy foods, oreos, chips, sweets, etc., so Oct of last year switched to a plant based diet. I went total vegan 4 weeks ago when I started the Eat to Live plan. Cheese and yogurt addiction has been the…
  • I have been a vegetarian for 9 years. A vegetarian that ate pizza, mac and cheese, chips, oreos, etc. I didn't really care for meat when I became a vegetarian, except Turkey, I did like Turkey. Recently I went plant based, which means I'm still a vegetarian, but no processed foods. Real fruits a veggies. I feel tons…
  • Sorry I missed posting my last weigh in. Lost 1 lb so far. I expect it will be much higher this week. I had jaw surgery yesterday (bone graft in my jaw) and I can't eat much. It hurts to eat. So I'm sticking with veggie and fruit juices (made in my juicer), and my hubby is making me some mashed potatoes tonight. I ate a…
  • I'm in. But upping it to 10 lbs for me. SW: 242 CW: 215 GW May: 205 I typically weight in on Mondays. Just for fun: I have to prepare for my next belt test on 6/7.
  • I should add, the juice fast, you use veggies, and make it fresh in a juicer. Not the horrible bottled stuff.
  • Check out Eat to Live. I am doing that. No processed sugar (Fruit is allowed- as natural sugars are metabolized differently that processed sugar), no processed foods, no salt, no coffee, no meat, no dairy.. Basically just fruits and veggies. Also a few nuts and seeds an dried beans an a small amount of grains. It is hard…
  • I do martial arts, which is all done barefoot. I do plank, pushups, running, kicking, jumping etc during that training barefoot no issues. It's been 2 years, no issues. In fact being barefoot like that has fixed my planar fascitis. I find it's better for my ankles which have both been broken in the past. It feels more…
  • I'm a vegetarian and have been for 9 years. Plant based now, not before. Keep in mid Twinkies and Oreos are vegan! The best site I use frequently- Happy Herbivore. She is a cookbook writer, and has lots of great recipes that she posts on her blog and fb site. She does a meal plan too if you need it. I bought a couple just…
