+1ing the suggestions for a sports bra and/or a moisture wicking top. That said, I find (personally) that I tend to feel more ... clammy, I guess, when I work out at the gym versus outside, but that's purely due to the fact that the gym tends to be quite humid even with the air con on, whereas when I'm going for a run…

It does take a while - it's the bit of weight loss that a lot of [maindtream media] doesn't really talk about. But you presumably had a while of looking at your fat self, of being adjusted to looking at yourself and seeing yourself in that way. Comparatively speaking, the time it takes to lose that weight is relatively…

@ShannonMpls speaks the truth, tbh. Anything I'd have to say on the matter would just be repeating her, so I'm just commenting, really, to +1.

I was described as 'tiny' by a lady at work, in the context of attempting to help her find clothes for her daughter, and was told that her daughter was 'average, not as small as [you]'. It's still completely bizarre being perceived as small. Relatedly, I was helping a girl try to find jeans with a 28" leg — my store used…

I've been maintaining for a while with a few fluctuations here and there, and I've recently come to the conclusion that maintenance, more so than the enjoyment of losing weight and becoming fitter, is incredibly satisfying [at least for me]. There's just something about realising how far you've come and what you've…

you have damn rad hair btw

Oh, bless you! That's really lovely, thank you!

it's not rude at all! TBH I'm not sure how much I've lost overall — I avoided weighing myself when I was at my heaviest, so my actual weight then remains an unknown, and I did manage to lose a little bit before I really committed myself to a healthy lifestyle. The first time I weighed myself after losing a noticeable…

Aha! Thank you so much! :)

I dress better than when I was bigger, but I also suffer from *****y Resting Face (fat or thin), so confident or not, unless I'm actively making an effort to smile, I do look haughty/miserable/some combination of the two. Despite (or in spite, your opinion!) this, I get way more attention than I used to. I've been hit on…

I won't lie, I have trouble reconciling the fact that I was (or am) either of these people.

Go to a running store, have them analyse your gait and let them make recommendations for shoes. Recommendations for shoes over the internet is just asking for (more) injuries. A decent pair of running shoes is very personal and depends on a number of factors.

Went for a 10 mile run.

Glad your calf is good now! It probably was just a case of pushing it a bit much, then, and it's good sign that you listened to your body instead of attempting to run through it and potentially injuring yourself. Good luck with future runs!
-
I think my first was 31:17; these days, I can manage 23:00 - 25:00 depending on terrain.
-
Minimalist running shoes might appeal more, but you want to go for what suits your running style. They might not be right for you, and forcing yourself to run in something that doesn't fit your gait is just going to cause injury in the long run (...pun entirely unintended).

100% this. Endurance comes before speed. The more you run, the faster you'll get. (And then you can add speed work and intervals.)
-
Man, I love the Zombies, Run! apps, although the C25K trainer hadn't been released when I started running. I ended up listening to it for the story and using it for intervals, and I will say that I absolutely love the fact that it incorporates stretches into the programme -- the C25 trainers I downloaded and tried when I…

I'd be tempted to say that you pushed yourself too much on your run, and potentially didn't cool your muscles down enough afterwards. Tightness after a long or hard run certainly isn't uncommon, and you've definitely done the right thing in taking a rest day. I'd say just keep an eye on it today and see how it is tomorrow,…

Outdoors, 100%. I'll use a treadmill if necessary (weather or constraints related to time), or if I feel the need to for specific speed work (as there are no tracks near where I live), but I find that I run better, stronger, and for longer outside, even if I'm running loops of a lake. The fresh air, and even the wind and…

I know that both are me, but it's always a weird (odd) thing to really realise. I also suffer from resting ***** face syndrome, which I feel is far more evident now I've lose weight.
-
Oh my gosh, that's so flattering. Thank you!

I don't know how much I've lost in actual total, but I know I've lost 56lbs since I started weighing myself. I can guess at how much I've lost overall, but whatever. I got down to about 130lbs sometime last year and was relatively happy with that for a while and just maintained, though I decided to start losing again…

I'm 5'2" and 125.5lbs. I generally eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day and exercise four times a week, although this last week has been really poor exercise-wise. But it's a new week, so I'm jumping back on that horse! I find that my weight loss seems to oscillate between being slow and "fast" in that I won't lose any…

In this case, the word you seem to be looking for would likely be "epithet"; pseudonym implies a name you've chosen to go by and unless you plan on using "bellend" as a stagename...! But dude, seriously. Rule #1 of internet engagements is to step away from the computer (or at the very least, from the area of the internet…

I'm 5'2" and most of my weight sits in my legs and *kitten*, and I love to run. Running gets easier the more you do it, but not everyone's going to enjoy it. People don't enjoy the same forms of exercise, and that's not a bad thing. It's got nothing to do with body shape, it's just something you don't enjoy and something…

Vegetarian. I eat eggs, but I've recently been cutting back on dairy as I've been getting headaches that I think might be related to dairy consumption. I do plan on transitioning to veganism eventually, though.

Within the UK, at least, a reference to Thatcher's government is acknowledged to specifically refer to the period of time in which the Conservative Party was in power under her rule and the Labour Party in opposition. Thus, I'll reiterate, that from the government in the '70s to the government in the '80s through to 1997,…
