Mean - hits the weights hard

Squatting the bar is fine, most of us started there. You'll progress nicely with the stronglifts 5x5 program, doing 5 reps and adding 5lbs of weight each workout. The guys likely wont give you a 2nd glance squatting the bar, they'll be watching when you're squatting more than they do.
-
I started squatting the bar in October, today I squat 200lbs. Pretty sure I have gained more than 1 - 2 lbs of muscle mass
-
OMG too funny!
-
I'll wear a string bikini made from dental floss!

My routine is similar, I go to the gym every 2nd day and I always lift. As far as cardio I do 20 minutes every other visit, before lifting if someone is using the squat rack or I need to warm up my muscles, but it's usually after lifting & I go to Zumba classes every other Saturday. IMO 60 minutes of cardio is too much.

I doubt anyone in the military eats this

35 and feeling just as great as when I was 25 :)

I wouldn't work out in a gym I'm uncomfortable in, are there any other gyms you could join?
-
Simply... yes :)

Ignore it. I'm sure they mean well but what works for someone isn't what works for the next person, only you know what will. I respect the individuals choices, as long as its not starvation:)

My diary is set at 2400 calories, but I did take the last week off from logging, I eat bacon every day. I'm doing the stronglifts 5x5 program. I haven't had a loss on the scale in 8 weeks but I've lost a lot of inches and I'm still increasing my weights.
-
At 1200 calories MFP is designed for you to eat back your exercise calories, so technically you should be eating more than that.
-
I'm a beginner and have been doing the stronglifts 5x5 program for about 6 weeks, its simple to follow only being 5 different exercises.
-
I've been LCHF (YUM) for 3 months I'm doing stronglifts 5x5 3 times a week and cardio twice a week.
-
I wear mine swimming
-
Your calories will average out in a few days, or a week. Our body doesn't know about what we're inputting on MFP.
-
My thoughts too! Looking great!
-
Log your workouts entering 1 calorie burned, this way it doesn't alternate anything but still shows your exercise
-
My response was based solely on the topic title. Fat is not bad for you, you can get healthy fats from butter, coconut oil and olive oil. I think MFP sets the sugar allowance on the low side. Your sugar should be natural sugar from fruit and not processed.
-
A 1200 calorie diet is do-able if you eat your exercise calories back. If you burn 500 calories exercising, your could eat up to 1700.
-
IMO - Yes, eat back your calories burned. When we are using TDEE we do not eat back exercise calories but because you set your diary to "sedentary' when in fact you are active you would eat your calories back. I have my diary set the same way so that on days I exercise I eat some or all of them back depending on my hunger.

What you've achieved is very admirable. Great approach on food and exercise! Great job pushing yourself that extra bit and reaching for it.
