I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Feeling like I nee to make a change, but it won't be for a while as we are currently focusing on my husband pursuing some continued education to better his carreer path, which would ultimately open up more possibilities for me as we likely won't be as cash strapped. I…

This time around something mentally just happened. I wanted to be healthier, and my diet was already 90% of the way there but I needed activity too. I made the commitment to do the 30 Day Shred, some days it was hard but I always told myself, give it 5 minutes and then you can stop if you want to. I never did. I have…

If you've been open and honest with your daughter about why your changing your activity level and eating habits, and along the lines mentioned to lose weight/be a healthy weight she is probably trying to figure out what a healthy weight is. Kids don't naturally notice people's size/weight as flaws etc. and her comment was…

I really like the circuits/workouts that they show on leanitup.com.

Cheese is a pretty heatlhy food. Good protein snack with apples or whatever. ANyway. I often buy the giant blocks of cheese because it is cheaper, then when I get home I cut them into 3 or 4 smaller bricks, wrap and bag the portions and keep them in the freezer. You can pre-grate it and freeze it too. Just be sure to buy…

I started trying to learn to run before I did any strength training. I suffered a knee injury which I found out was due to strength imbalance between my quads and hamstrings. My physiotherapist recommended a few different exercises, which involved body-weight squats. I left running to the side while I healed, but continued…

Winterpegger....and yes, it's still feeling like winter. We woke up to a -30 windchill this morning. WTF??

I might have to give this a go...although I suspect that I won't be able to get that far as I need to increase mobility through my calves/achilles to prevent my heel from raising off the floor. But, thanks to my squats I am getting better there.

Life is not a race, we all know what happens at the finish line. Eat well and exercise often to make the most out of everything between here and the finish line.

Great job! Your hard work is paying off.

Congratulations on your progress! Keep doing this for you, your goal sounds realistic for your height, but don't let just the scale define you.

buy a low back bustier, or one of those bras that is convertible to be worn with low backs.

I have peanut butter almost every day. 2 Tbs is my normal serving. I think I might get twitchy if I didn't have it in my diet...seriously. I mix it into my oats, have it with my apples or bananas, dip my carrots in it, spread it on celery. Sometimes, I just eat a Tbs of if after a workout. Oh man I love it.

I am trying to work on my mobility a bit more to get to ATG, but, I always go parallel with my barbell squats. My PR is 2 sets of 6X175 pounds. Not quite my body weight. I've since dropped that weight back down some and am focusing more on getting a deeper squat. I am almost ATG on bodyweight squats, and can drop just…

Read the labels in the store and see if there are "extras" in any of the goods. I have learned through friends who work in the purchasing area for grocers, that often store brands are made by the name brand companies, but it will sometimes be slightly tweaked for cost etc. I will often by store brand if the savings are…

I pre-pack foil dinners - things like salmon steaks with a couple of lemon slices, a drizzle of maple syrup, throw in some asparagus spears or green beans and wrap it all up in a foil pak to throw in the grill/over the fire. Chicken breasts are great for grilling. We love sliced up potatoes and onions, again in foil,…

I am, at least some of them. I have put a few pants in the donation bag because they just look awful and I wouldn't dream of wearing them to work. Others I am still cinching on with a belt and trying to smooth out the unsighlyt bulk in front. I have bought a couple of new pieces though so I'm not always wearing baggy…

Amazing...and thank you. I have been gaining and losing the same pound for almost 2 months. But, I have changed sizes, and shape a bit so I have confidence. Go get it!
