  • Hi All, I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba - Central Canada. I'm new-ish to running. Started with a C25K app on my phone late last fall, suffered a minor knee injury so laid off until the new year. Now I am doing at least 3 runs a week, working up to 4 or 5. Sundays I do my long slow runs with a local running group. I just…
  • Try looking for ones that are a combination of antipersperant and deodorant. The first will help prevent the sweat from escaping the pores, while the second acts as a nicely scented cover up for any possibly odour. Deodorant on it's own as far as I'm concerened, is useless.

  • I bought a fanny-pack type carrier. It holds a single sports bottle, but also has a couple of zippered pockets for gels/money/cards/keys etc.
  • Off to check that out, Thanks!
  • creepy long fingernails on guys.
  • I will get a headache during recovery if I don't hydrate myself before and after my run. I also can't run on an empty stomach, but if I eat too soon before a run I get cramped easily. So, on days when I am heading out for my long runs I wake up a good 2 hours before I'll run, have 2-3 glasses of water, and make myself a…
  • Purely for the sake of curiousity, I wore my HRM during my usual Saturday afternoon clean. Vacuumed 3 levels, plus stairs, changed linens, did laundry, dusted etc. I was at it for a good 2.5 hours. My HRM said I had burned 167 calories. My house looked great, I felt great with how clean it was, but I was never under any…
  • This article might be helpful. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/marathon-weight-training-stay-strong-during-marathon-training.html I enjoy running and do a long run (1-1 3/4 hours) once a week, then do 2 shorter and quicker runs twice a week (+/- 30 minutes). 2 days a week I focus on lifting.
  • I love my thighs too...but have no picture at the moment. Will take one tonight - and new measurements, I think I'm sitting just above 23".
  • ask for a workout that will give you "long and lean" muscles.
  • We had a work luncheon - I ordered the curry lime chicken salad wrap (whole wheat wrap) and treated myself to the fries.
  • Interesting, because wasn't she also #1 on the list of most hated celebs??
  • I'm always happy to support and motivate new friends. I will offer you honest support, and sometimes tough love. With regards to your original question about if you are eating properly. Doing a quick calculation based on "light" activity (I exercise about 5, sometimes 6 days a week and use this level), and eating at a 15%…
  • I always rinse my hair after conditioning with cooler water. Apparently it locks in the moisture and helps things look shiny!
  • This reminds me of a snarky cashier I had one shopping trip. It was a BIG trip - my cart was loaded to the top. I happened to be doing a lot of pantry stocking up at the time, as well as my usual produce etc. Anyway, I had the usual of cuts from the butcher counter, milk, eggs, low fat dairy products, whole grain breads,…
  • Practice doing the jumping moves when people are awake, soften your landings by absorbing it into a soft bent knee. When I do jumping jacks, butt kicks, and jump rope it barely makes a sound. Also, if you keep up with doing it, the sounds will just become normal sounds of your home, and chances are no one notices anyway.

  • I haven't read the other replies, but, have experience with our Husky cross who had a complete tear of of ACL 4 winters ago. She is a little bit bigger than your dog, at 50 lbs. When your vet checked your dog's joint, they would have performed a simple test of the joint to determine the mobility and severity of the tear.…
  • You go girl!! That is something to be proud of. And awesome job getting out of your own head - your body doesn't give up first, your mind does.
  • ME! I pre-log my day as I pack my lunch/snacks before I eat breakfast in the morning. That's when I build/plan my supper too. I am constantly logging on here during the day to check things out. I have even pre-logged an entire week (more so because I really needed to ration out our food supply between pay periods).
  • Hi, I'm also 5'11, and my starting weight when I joined MFP was 204. I'm currently 189. I am a true-and-true large frame size. My wrist measurements never fall below 6.5". At my all time slimmest, before children and after an incredibly restricted, extremely low calorie diet, I weighed 167 pounds. As soon as I stopped…
  • What happens if the bread I buy south of the border is actually made up of wheat grown north of the border, processed north of the border, baked south of the border, only to be brought back north of the border and consumed? Is this going to be life or death?
  • Monday to Friday I almost always have oatmeal with 1/2 cup of part-skim milk, ground flax seed and peanut butter. Sometimes I throw in honey, or sugar free jam. One day on the week-end I will try to make us scrambled eggs, panacakes/waffles, or french toast. I'm sure in another 2 weeks I will change this up again -…
  • I remember eating out a lot. But, my parents still do. When we did eat meals at home it was usually frozen lasagnas, some kind of meat pie etc. I think part of that is what propelled me into wanting to cook so much...I loved playing in the kitchen, still do. Now that I'm a mom, I do my best to provide wholesome meals as…
  • 31 year old, losing fat and inches, not dwelling on what the scale says as much as how my clothes fit. Full details are in my profile - always happy to support!
