No. As long as you are keeping up with healthy, regular activity and your eating habits are in line with your activity level then you don't need to keep weight training if you don't want to. Muscle loss as we age is inevitable, so keeping some sort of strength workout in your routine is highly beneficial - but this can be…

My daughter's lunches tend to come back a lot - but it is because she is too busy socializing/chatting/playing that she runs out of time to eat. I have found that if I take the extra minute to cut her sandwich with a cookie cutter it will get eaten 9/10 times. Kids are very judgy by appearance of foods. If you change it up…

Moisturizing your skin helps take care of the top layer or two, buy staying well hydrated keeps your skin healthy throughout. Sadly firming lotions are much like the lotions they sell to target stretch mark prevention/reduction and ultimately is just a way to put a higher price tag on hand cream. If you do want to help…

I'm on my second pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 16s. The biggest draw for me to these shoes vs. other similar neutral running shoes was the wider toe box feel. I love my runners!

I would suggest starting a program of some sort that you can see making a part of your life after the wedding too - try a JM video, or one of the Beachbody programs, but don't expect results in 3 weeks, instead, expect to totally rock the night of your first anniversary!! Now, breathe, and take time to appreciate and enjoy…

I'm registered for the following races so far: May 4th - WPS Half Marathon July 26th - Mud Hero (6K, 15 Obstacle) I am going to register for this as well: June 15 - Manitoba Marathon I'm waiting to find out the exact dates of a business seminar that will have me in St.Louis, if timing is right I will also do the WFPS Half…

Thanks for clarifying. I was curious if perhaps my BF% was still too high to get into bulk/cut phases. Looking through the photos of previous estimations you've provided others, I think that I am close to the range that I've calculated through other sources, around the 24% point. I too carry my weight in my butt and…

Is he bulking? I'd have reached across and taken a fork full of his!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just curious why you wouldn't suggest a bulk at this point, but do agree that for my overall goals bulk/cut phases will eventually need to happen? Would this be that I'm still at a higher BF%, or, simply that I have been at maintenance for the past 3 weeks and that my body would respond well to…

I'd be interested to know how you like this, and how it works out for your needs. I'm currently lifting in my basement, also with low ceiling clearance (and minimal floor space, but, kids toys can be moved!) and have no rack. Like you, I'm in Canada and finding something appropriate, and budget friendly has proven to be a…

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I've set my calories to my TDEE, to include my 3x a week lifting program and short runs. If I do a longer run and feel like I need to eat more I do. I don't think maintenance means working out less, but, it's about finding more of a balance. What are your goals now? I'm looking to gain muscle, and burn fat and will likely…

I love how strong I am. I love my muscle definition - especially my arms/shoulders. I love how far my body can carry me on a run. I love all the good food!

Zoomer the robot dog topped the list at our house this year. Followed by clothes, books, an iPod Touch, jewelry, and a few movies: Epic, Turbo, The Croods. Is she interested in reading - my 7 year old is loving the Rainbow Magic books - she's already read 7, and she has another 5 coming from santa.

Save yourself a few dollars and trust the 16 year old whose voice hasn't quite changed wearing the referee sweater that *THOSE* are definitely the *BEST* shoes for running.

Cowboy is on my team for sure - definite survivor.

It could very easily be water retention from the re-introduction of training. I know that when I got back into exercising after my half the scale initially jumped. It took about a week of regular workouts before my body started to relax a bit and I was back to my normal weight.

Awesome job. Your mindset is as beautiful as you are on the outside and some very good advice for all!

I use a tablespoon, and a small spatula to clear as much out/off of my spoon as possible. When that is done, I insert measuring spoon into my mouth and proceed to make out with it until it's clean enough to wipe on my jeans and put it back in the drawer.

My list of "things" should people feel compelled to buy me something: Winter running clothes A foam roller Chucks New PJs What I really want for Christmas: To go sledding and ice skating with the kidlets and my hubby then all gather around the family room under big cozy blankets with hot cocoa and watch movies in our…

My 7 year old has an iTouch on her list, with only about 5 other items. But, we aren't giving it to her, and we have encouraged her to save up her birthday money, Christmas money and save for one. She has already saved about $105 dollars and I have no doubt that she will take better care of that iTouch after she buys it…

There are only 3 that I will skip through/change the radio station for: 6 White Boomers Christmas Shoes All I want for Christmas is You.

You should consult your doctor about any and all exercise programs during your pregnancy. Having said that - when I was pregnant, I was NOT active in anyway shape or form, but, my doctor told me both times that any kind of exercise/workouts that I was doing pre-pregnancy were fine to continue with during pregnancy because…

I'm an early lunch eater too. I eat my breakfast (either an egg sandwich, cereal, oats) at home around 7AM, and by 9AM I am ready to eat. I bring a morning snack with me - usually a granola bar, yogurt, fruit. It holds me another couple of hours until I need to eat lunch around 11:30. I usually want to eat again by 2, and…

Frivolous to me these days is anything outside of the standard budget. But, I'd probably go with one of the following: A leather jacket A garmin FR620 A Coach wallet

All good things to know. Guess some minimalist shoes can go on my Christmas list!

Congrats on finding something that you like doing and works for you. That is the biggest key to success and sticking with it. Congratulations!
