You just have me hope and motivation. I am 125 and I look wonderful IN clothes, put on a suit and blech! My thoughts have been geared towards BF, exercise and weightlifting, and I know I am on the right track. Picture 2 I can see SUCH a difference! Great job

I may need to go to the Scottish Festival this year

This made me laugh harder than it should.

Did you want to wear the kilt to the Scottish Festival this summer or her sisters church wedding? These are important questions :flowerforyou:

I learned from a close friend, by example, to not make MY issues anybody else's issues. This has been fun because I am also dating for the first time in 32 years! Yeah! :ohwell: What is the first place to go? Out to eat. Super.:indifferent: Then a drink. Oye Vey!   I had one date ask where I would…

Thanks for dumbing that down for me:flowerforyou:

Yes lower was the word I was looking for :blushing: My migraines are caused not by one, but many triggers. The doctor explained it like a glass being filled with triggers. I had a tall glass prior to my nerve ablation and hardly ever hit the threshold. Now my threshold is a shot glass  I think removing the gluten (or…

This entire thread reminds me of Migraine. When I was 11 I had the first migraine with aura that I can remember. This was 43 years ago, and I was on vacation with my best friend in Lower GA. I remember throwing up, and complaining I couldn't see right. They put me in a big brass bed, with all the windows open (it was about…

again, I have been diagnosed and see a gastro and neuro and ortho, all of which agree my current diet is helping my medical issues. My medications have been reduced to 1/5. BUT......let me put myself in your shoes for just a moment, as I have worked front and back of the house for many types of restaurants. From greasy…

Wow, just wow. I have advised you I do not fart. I may pooft a bit, but in lady like way as I am running away from the crowd  'people' as in, they are not human? Applebee's and Chili's are far from hi end restaurants, I was referring to Tru Lucks. That being said, I personally have a standard order I make in any…

I work in a restaurant and find my attitude has a lot to do with the way my customers present their orders to me. Some bring in their own eggs because they want organic. What do I care if they want to pay for a full breakfast and give me eggs? When people ask me questions, I ask right back-nicely "Why" then if they say "I…

Well aren't you a bowl of sunshine, wrapped up in a rainbow. You do you, and I'll do me. ETA: No where did I ask for your sympathy, empathy or permission. FYI

IDK. When I first went off gluten there was a lot of trial and error, and research on my part. My son worked at a small craft beer place, and I went to spend an afternoon with him. Had a nice tall glass of something dark and delish. Unfortunately, I was out of work for 3 days. It kind of also goes to the people who said it…

I am good then, huh

Yes, sorry. The firs line was pure sarcasm. I am not usually prone to such things, but there it is. You were giving me much food for thought prior to going off on the "Big Gluten" comments. I learned a lot from this thread. Might not mean much to some, but to me it was well worth the time.
-
My synopsis of this thread: There was a scientific study of 37 people that irrefutably proves there is no such thing as gluten intolerance The people concerned with these findings are NOT being jerks and pointing fingers, only concerned there may be more information that needs to be gathered, and that some people who are…

Sorry :( I feel for you for sure. Interesting, I haven't followed FODMAP at this point, but I may add this to what I am now doing. I still have some IBS symptoms, maybe it is this?
-
Nope! What do you have to add?:flowerforyou:

That really was not my point. The implication was that anyone going on the GF 'bandwagon' has already jumped off a few in the past, and will jump on the next one that comes along. I believe that too much sugar can cause issues. Fortunately for me all the sugar I love is mixed with wheat products, therefore I am…

My close friend on here has Hashimoto's. She had to research it herself and bring the info to her endocrinologist and then fight for the tests. Even when a friend tried to 'help her' it turned out to be trying to sell her something.

NOPE. although I did joke about it, I have never in my life removed any full food group, even when dieting. Never in 53 years have I stopped eating something because they said it was bad for me. Never have I jumped on any train of thought. This is the first time in my life, and I have to say I ROLLED MY EYES when my son…

Yes. Thank you for asking. I may ask again to be sure of the sub categories you suggested. But I do remember TSH, and antibodies.

I will look it up too, and follow your link. I think an educated patient is the best kind. :drinker: thanks for the info!

Back in the day I remember they said red food dye would kill ya, I quit eating red dye they then said that grilled meat was full of cancer, I quit eating grilled meat it then came out that sex causes cancer.................... I went back to dyed burgers on the grill. :drinker:
