@psychod787 Dr. Michael Greger has discussed optimal foraging theory when dressing our challenges. Yes, just keep your weaknesses out of reach. The "just one bite" doesn't work for most of us, even with best of intentions.

I keep cut crudités in the refrigerator....cherry tomatoes, cauliflower, bell pepper, celery, celery (If I'm going to be out and about for awhile I take some veggies with me). I remind myself of my goals. My mind is a strong component on this journey. My mindset: I can eat whatever I want. It is my choice to be healthy.…

I don't drink coffee, but if I did I would not consider it hydration. So, no, I would not count it.

I don't eat in restaurants....but when necessary, order a vegetable (only) salad and bring my homemade dressing in a small container. I can usually eat beforehand and socially acceptably get by with a cup of tea. When out and about I carry a container of veggies/small amount of seeds or nuts. I don't allow myself to get…

@ShayMiller2018 Primary goal: Calorie deficit Secondary goals: Sleep, exercise, water, mental attitude, strategies for stress, track data/reflect Always: Balance spiritual, mental, physical Make this a lifestyle...you will lose weight. Age is of no concern.

Looks like you are dealing with injuries....wonder if your MD could write a prescription for consultation with physical therapist. I wouldn't come here for advice due to your injuries. Wishing you the best of health!

4 months...I stop eating at 6:00. It has made a huge difference.
-
Inspirational....you look ten years younger and I'm bet your age markers prove it! Respect...this took work.

starch....crave potatoes, rice, pasta.

Yes, @Go_Deskercise I agree. The key is to eat right up to your deficit amount of calories. That amount will vary depending on your current weight and how quickly you want to lose. I was eating below my deficit calories and my weight stalled. I uped the calories to where I was eating the max in order to lose 1-2 pounds per…

@deniseg31 You did it....and you are on your way downward! This is a major accomplishment. Don't get frustrated if it bounces a bit....trust the process. Great job!

@griefburrito This is such a subjective question. My healthy lifestyle is the very different from yours. There is a variety of expert opinions and advice. I use data and strategies to give me feedback on the results of my daily efforts and reflect on improvements. Do the research, trust yourself, experiment and release…

@ReenieHJ Your micros will give you that answer....it is science and physiology, not a fad. Best of health!

@Igfrie Interesting to read your comments. Your conclusions make sense as it takes at least three days of fasting before your body adjusts and it becomes, as you would say, a "2". Fasting produces apoptosis and autophagy which is healing and produces cellular regeneration. But it takes time to access that level and ADF…

@Diatonic12 Yes, I agree with the article you cited. This is my lifestyle and I'm very rarely hungry reaching satiety daily.
-
@AnnPT77 Excellent and insightful article that you wrote on scale weight. I'm maintaining a 1000 caloric deficit daily and see the scale hover on plateaus for days. I will keep in mind your comment "as long as you remain in deficit, you are losing fat". When I look at the trend line, it is a downward journey so I know that…
