Just get dressed into sports clothes and do it! The first couple of minutes are awful, but then as you get into it the crampy, bloated feeling goes and then I feel really good because on a day when I'm usually hibernating I'm being active! Seriously, don't over think it. I always allow myself to go slower or a bit less…

Back in the day, I swear there were more of us... It's not really surprising though, we're such a little country compared to America, we're always going to be outnumbered! There are a fair of us though!

i just started Pilates a few weeks ago and everyone is in regular workout gear, shorts, leggings, t-shirts etc. I try to wear a close fitting t-shirt, so that when I'm doing the down facing dog my belly isn't exposed to everyone! lol

I never really hurt after a workout... I mean, my legs will feel like jelly for a couple of seconds but them I'm ok and don't feel any aches afterwards. I can only think of two or so occasions in the past year where i've been really sore afterwards and I know I'm getting results from my workouts so it's not like I'm not…

Definitely lift heavy, but you do have to lose that body fat first... or during I guess. I got to my goal weight before hitting the gym and it only took a few weeks to start seeing a difference with heavy lifting, after a few months I had the definition that I wanted!

So, my rowing club ask us to row on the erg machines once a week and then post our scores, last week was two 15 minute sets, we weren't watching any numbers at that point, but I took a picture of my numbers anyway, and then this week we were asked to look at numbers and stay within 18-23 s/m and do two 20 min sets. Last…

Ooh, I haven't done this yet! Have been a Concept II rower for a couple of years, usual gym technique though, so all wrong! I never paid attention to split or anything like that, would just aim to go for as long as possible. This year I started my undergraduate degree at uni and joined their Boat Club - where we have…

It's my favourite thing to eat in the morning if I don't have time for breakfast! Never did me any harm... gotta love a bit of bro science for a chuckle!

An old man I was greeting stared at me for a little while, walked away... stopped, turned, stared again... "My, what lovely teeth you have, did you grow them yourself?" He was being completely sincere too, made my day!

I wear make up and have pretty hair because I go right from work, I also wear nice form fitting clothes and like that after all the hard work I've put in I'm getting something out of it. I'd hate to think that people were judging me because of the way that I look whilst working out. Being labelled as 'stupid' and implying…

I'm really excited! I work as a steward around school and have been to four of the Torch relays and loved the whole atmosphere and hearing the wonderful stories of the torch bearers, it makes me proud that we have so many amazing people in our midst willing to do such amazing things for others! As for the Games, a lot of…

I think it depends on what sets you off! IBS runs in our family, my sister and mum take medication for it but since watching my diet, mine has practically disappeared! For me, Apples, mushrooms and coffee really bloat my stomach and give me intense cramps. So I generally avoid them. (I do eat them sometimes, but understand…

I love this for a grab and go breakfast! My favourite one so far has been a Cherry Cinnamon version (UK ingredients) Asda 20g rolled Scottish oats 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 15g of dried cherries (the sour ones, not glace!) 1 heaped teaspoon of Asda finest Cherry conserve 100g Asda low fat greek style yoghurt (the best…

I have it most mornings! I buy the quick cook sachets of Chocolate porridge, (120cals) make with water (0cals!) two teaspoons of coffee mate (20cals) and a teaspoon of whole earth crunchy peanut butter (61cals) and it tastes divine! You could make it with milk so that it would be creamier, but I like it just like that and…

Great idea for a thread! I've been adjusting those posted by fitting in UK ingredients, doesn't always work though! lol I also bought some of those American 'cups' but find i'm still having to weigh the food afterwards to put it into my recipe builder as the calories don't add up the same.

This one kills me...

That's what I'm hoping to find, a decent network of people to help me manage the syndrome! Although I love the NHS and have found them brilliant generally, they're really not great at referring you to the correct specialists. It's taken me two years to have my GP even consider that there's something else going on! I'm…

One to try, thanks!

I add 75 calories per hour if I'm constantly on my feet. I'm just stewarding at events, but with that am on my feet constantly (we're not allowed to sit and my shifts can be 12hrs some times), talking to customers and having to occasionally walk them to places so pretty similar in terms of activity I would think. I got the…

The amount of flour I use is about 202cals... but the yoghurt and egg white only add a further 100cals and a delicious, filling and easy breakfast is worth 300 calories! I add a teaspoon of jam and some icing sugar and all in, 350 calories and they're amazing! A lot of comments also mention the batter being really thick,…

Where are you getting your coconut oil from? I haven't seen it anywhere in the UK! I love Sweet Potato chips (fries), but usually end up with wedges because my cutting technique is awful! I bought some pre-cut ones from Asda the other day and was shocked that the container was 455 calories! My homemade ones were definitely…

Plain! Unless a recipe specifically states self-raising, always assume it's plain! These are now my favourite breakfast, in fact I crave them randomly throughout the day. They're so filling and I always put some of my favourite jam on them and a bit of icing sugar and they're perfect!

I'm just up the road in Smithy Bridge and it hasn't stopped all day :( I should be thankful I live on a hill at least! Hope you're doing ok! x

Yes... I haven't binged in a long time but used to quite frequently and I think it was something that I needed to see. In fact, here you go... probably the worst time of my eating life. I'd hit goal, yet was still attempting 1500 a day, plus running 10K every other day, plus weight lifting and a very stressful job which…

There's definitely lots of stuff I miss from the US (peanut butter chocolate... in all its many varieties! Panera Bread, Earl of Sandwich.. quite a long list actually! lol) But it did amaze me when living out there how processed everything is. I gave up eating bread when I was out there because the more you chewed it, the…

My family won't eat my healthy food either so i've been having to cook for one for a while now. The easiest solution I have found is to cut the portions down to a manageable size (i.e. 4) and then freeze or store the other three portions for later, that way all of my ingredients get used before they go off and I can take…

Law student by day, event steward on the weekends and evenings and during the summer I work in the event control at major UK festivals, making sure that everything is safe and any problems are identified and dealt with immediately, also co-ordinating the emergency services if they are needed on site... I LOVE MY JOB!

OMG - After reading this thread I NEED some Indian food in my life... hmm, lamb bhuna, keema naan and saag aloo... I reckon that if I stop eating now, by next Friday I shall have amassed enough calories to still be within my limit! lol

That is an amazing achievement! Well done! I have been a binge eater for about 10 years.. probably more... and it's still amazing to me that in just the past 6/7 months or so I have got over this bad habit and haven't binged. Keep at it, It's nice to feel in control!
