  • I'm embarking on a low FODMAP diet due to quite severe IBS and gastroparesis - finding it quite hard to make the transition as it seems everything has hidden gluten/milk/soy, but if it makes eating less painful, then it'll be worth it in the end. Feel free to add me!
  • Have you tried physio? I'm not sure if you have it available to you in your area, but it's free on the nhs where I am and self-referral, definitely worth checking out! I get tendonitis all over the place, and bad enough to stop me from doing the things I love (rowing, running, swimming) hell, it hurts washing my hair! I've…
  • Generally, I think the guy pays the first date, especially if he instigated it. After that it's fair game, I invite him for pizza, I pay - he takes me out to the pub, he pays... I wouldn't keep tabs though, life's too short. I did however date a guy who insisted on paying and would get quite offended if I even attempted to…
  • Law (qualifying) with Negotiation and Forensic Science. Class of 2015.
  • I wouldn't rely on wrist sizes as a guide to frame! Particularly if you are a pear shape! My fingers overlap on my wrists (think they're around 5.5" around) yet my hips and shoulders are 38" (at the bone!) and at my skinniest weight, the smallest trousers that would fit were a UK10/US6 - my frame would never get small…
  • I've recently been going through this, I've always had a bit of anxiety, but it was manageable with breathing techniques and CBT - then I started uni and everything just got so much worse. It finally got to the point where I wouldn't leave the house because I knew I would have a panic attack so started missing lectures and…
  • This, watch some videos to learn proper technique and then hit the rowing machine. I've never had such an intense workout as attempting to do a 2km piece in race conditions (this takes about 8mins) and you'll feel it everywhere! It's great for core muscles, as well as being amazing on your thighs and shoulders.
  • Firstly, your doctor CANNOT refuse to treat you. We're not in an insurance type situation here, they don't get to choose what they do and do not treat. If you have an obesity related problem that is effecting your health, they MUST treat you. Just remember that. Also, if need be, go in and see a different doctor, you don't…
  • Haha! This! I think men should be hairy, it feels nice. Stereotypical, but it's rugged and 'manly'. Don't care about what hair is on the head though.
  • Just sneaking in (I don't have scoliosis, apologies) but I did a general search for hypermobility and this thread came up! I've been diagnosed as hypermobile too, but am being 'tested' currently for EDS type 3 as I have many of the symptoms. I have my Rheumatologists appointment at the end of May where the doc is going to…
  • Just to generalise, I think for most binge eaters - having a 'nibble' of something is the most 'dangerous' thing of all... eating an apple would in no way assuage my hunger, and most times entice me to eat way, way more, often to the point of triggering a binge. Reading your own body is probably key, a previous poster…
  • Thanks for the heads up! I'd never seen this blog before, but there's quite a few recipes on it them i'm going to give a go!
  • I don't feel afraid of it, but I completely know where you're coming from! I used to binge about 3/4 times a week, scary 5000cal+ binges. Thankfully, I don't have them anymore, and when I overindulge, I no longer fear that I'm about to binge. The hunger is still there though, pretty much always. I'm sure a lot of people…
  • 5ft 6.5" and currently around 135lbs - I have a pretty huge frame, at my lowest weight of 118lbs I still had 38" hips and shoulders, looked too skinny on the stomach and ribs, so put on 20lbs. I'm happy with my weight now, I'm about a 6US/10UK on top and a 8US/12UK on the bottom - if I try to lose more weight I just lose…
  • Apparently so! It was a good race, the better team won (which hurts me to say, lol) I thought Cambridge had a game plan as they looked really strong at the start and I was waiting for them to break away, but it just never happened. Ah well, there's always next year! lol
  • I'm in - going to push for 75 though as I'll be biking some of it - have EDS type 3 which is majorly playing up right now so my usual rowing/running/swimming is out!
  • Boo! Come on Cambs! I was still interested before I started rowing, but more so now! It's nice to know what's going on! lol
  • Roast Lamb - debating a sweet maple glaze/gravy Mashed potatoes Mixed Vegetables (broccoli, carrots, courgette, green beans) Yorkshire Puddings Dessert: Cadbury's Creme Eggs, maybe two of them
  • Warburtons crumpets with butter - 300 cals Ben & Jerry's Peanut Butter me up - 260 cals Feeling lazy and uninspired today.
  • Huge Disney Cruise fan, been on 3 with 2 more booked (Alaska and Transatlantic! woop!) I have never attempted to diet on them and won't... I went on a 3 day Bahamian cruise during the big 'lose 50lb' push I was going through and completely pigged out, put on about 7lbs over the 3 days and it was completely gone by the end…
  • Prawns/Shrimps etc... I really WANT to like them, and try them periodically to see if I've changed my mind about them, but nope, they still gross me out.
  • One on my bottom lip from falling UP the stairs as a 5 year old, remember it very clearly, putting my hand to my face and pulling away a chunk of skin, that's the point I started screaming! And one on my left eyelid from falling off a stage at nursery school when I was 3, have absolutely no memory of it. Then have lots on…
  • Oh, I love food porn. I used to google pictures of food that I craved the most... good times. If you tweet, @FoodIPorn is the best for food porn pics!
  • Wow, well done, you look amazing! I'm prone to injury due to hypermobility so keep stopping and starting a lifting regime. I'm starting physio sessions soon so I hope they can devise a 'safe' lifting programme for me, I want your strength (and physique!) so bad!
  • I microwave or bake, haven't boiled them as I'd be worried about them going too watery, they really don't take long to get soft!
  • I eat mine with sweet chilli sauce - so unbelievably good! Or sometimes just a small amount of butter and cinnamon, you don't need lots of butter for them to be fluffy and creamy!
  • Jokes aside, I think it's less to do with being a sheep and more to do with seeing what you might look like at a certain weight. It would be unrealistic of me to look to 5ft8 women to see what they look like at my goal weight, whereas someone at 5ft6.5 (it totally matters) will give me a better idea of what i'll look like…
  • I have wide hips so always just had a wide, flat bottom (really flat, you could barely tell the difference between thigh and butt!) But it definitely looks better now, and although it's still flat, I have rounded bits that look like butt! I have a picture in my profile that I'm particularly happy with - that's without a…
  • An inch can make all the difference!
  • You're stressing your body by exercising, that's all. You don't get colds from going out in the cold (even when wet), you get them from germs and weakened immune systems! If you just keep at it, you'll fight off the cold and be fitter generally. Plenty of Zinc and Vit C should help, but try to get this through your diet…
